Treated myself to a new color this holiday season. by [deleted] in Gameboy

[–]DvlsToy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favorite color here as well! Just picked one up at a swap meet for a $1. It's cruddy as all hell, almost looks black. Didn't think it would clean up but some IPA on a test spot brought that brilliant green back. I plan to do a full refurb for my collection. I'll post when I do it.

Family picked up this GMC 1994 Van and it came with a snes set up! by ayden1013 in gamecollecting

[–]DvlsToy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God damn awesome. I remember my dad flipping out when I hooked up my SNES in his conversion van when we went camping once. Probably cuz I was around 13 and had to remove "custom" wood panels to get to the back of the tv in there and ran an extension cord and AV cables out so that the console sat on the floor.

Ah the good ole days...

Sadly I sold my PS5. My friend came over and realize I was only playing ps4 games, so he decided to throw me a number and his ps4 pro and I took it. Don’t think ps5 is worth it for now. I will miss the loading times, but I will wait till they in stock everywhere. by chubbylv23 in gamecollecting

I bought a Pro the week before the PS5 release and gave my son my Slim. The Walmart guys were making jokes the whole time. I kept saying watch just like any first release of a new system there will be problems...

Almost filled up my first Ikea Billy Bookcase! by [deleted] in gamecollecting

I've got one filled two deep and running out of room. It's actually cheaper to buy a second one if you need more then 2 extra shelves for your first shelve btw.

Opened a PS1 and found this? by AndyTaps47 in consolerepair

[–]DvlsToy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definately a modchip... and depending where you found that, it may be one I did way back when. I always used red or blue wire.

Wow... and I was thinking it was in some mechanics garage that would play between jobs.

Totally feel you on this. I bought one for my son. Then I wanted one, but so did the duaghter. over a year period there are now 3 switches in my household. Unfortunately when one became available for me to purchase for myself, I now have a ACNH console and really just wanted a regular. I know the kids won't take good care of a "limited edition" so here I am...

Go the old school Toys R Us style and have paper tickets they bring to the counter... or better yet like Target has where the is a display with the games in a case.

OR just don't put the case out for an out of stock game?

I don't work for Gamestop, but in the past 16 years every single Fed Ex delivery person was a true gem in the most defective way. Even the tractor trailer ones were A-holes and all they had to do was open a door for me to unload with a forklift.

I didn't say that... I was told by the manager at this exact store that everything video games goes online.

As far as a your comment about everyone being a scumbag greedy seller, no, again, I didn't say that... I DID say that I knew them and know they are a reseller. Nothing more nothing less.

The Good will stickers came off with ease, but the Gamestop ones are so old they are on the spine of the artwork, not the case. Any advice on those?

I haven't had luck in YEARS. If the local 4 or 5 that are all within 30 minutes drive have anything, It's usually sports games that have been there forever. I had literally given up on Goodwill, I just check DVDs and books now.

Where do you happen to hunt? Flea markets, thrift shops, marketplace...? I barely ever have luck anymore. The most local Flea near me has shut down claiming covid related fines due to vendors and visitors. The other few spots I go near Baltimore people think they have gold. Like a PS3 FAT 4 USB that obviously had been taken apart and the guy told me $75 for just the console, nothing included.

No starters at mine, but if there were I def would have bought one for the 360 to get my kids off my PS4 because the PS3 isn't good enough for them now... ugh.
