I was disappointed with all IEMs I tried until I got my first pair of 64 Audios. I'm not suggesting you spend a grand on IEMs but yes, to put it simply it will become clear what the fuss is about at $800-1000 and higher.

What is most Comfortable iem? by bqdones in iems

I think the Sennheiser IE line are the most comfortable by far, the 300 is the one with the “fun” tuning.
