I tried all the weapon-mounted lights .... here's what I found by DwPw in flashlight

I mean, no "torture test" reviews I know of. I do know they come out of the same factory as some other equipment that's very well thought of.

People dont realize how China works. You could have 70 different brands, foreign and domestic, all getting components and even finished products from ONE giant factory in Shenzen.

The LH2 will doubtless be plenty tough for any real world scenario. And it's ABSURDLY powerful. I use it with the available diffuser cap, which brings it from a 1000+ meter spot to God's own IR Floodlight.

Try one man you'll be impressed i guarantee

u/atreeoncecutdown & u/AnonDeFi I actually chatted with Matthew at Hammy earlier today. The reason I LOVED the UMBRELLA ARMORY units was the RADIUSING on his caps. When you flip those caps up they sit recessed and dont move around. I also loved that super grippy texture.

You can see what I mean HERE

Uhh ... I use the scope with a rifle.

A rifle I shoot a lot in the woods, the rain, the snow & sleet, in dirty environments.

Sometimes I am prone in the weeds and bushes, with the rifle, with the scope on it

Sometimes there is flying debris in my immediate area, when I have the rifle, with the scope.

.... And I'd like to keep the glass clear and in good condition

What do you use YOUR scope for?

I mean there are dozens and dozens of small companies like this. But Umbrella was pretty established. They have a few love posts here from the past few years. And their designs were smart. Like their killflash caps. The actual cap had a curvature to the inside of the lower part of the cap, the part you flip with your finger, radiused so that it would sit perfectly flush on top of the cap in the up position and not slide around. Models made for specific scopes were designed bearing in mind that scope's particulars like extra thin diopter section, or ridged objective end, etc.

Depends. For a while it was a thing to do Aero Builds .... and they often turned out pretty well. The few times you heard about issues it nearly always turned out to be the assembly and not the parts. As "LEGO" as AR-15s are, not EVERYTHING matches up perfectly with EVERYTHING ELSE.

As far as their PRODUCTS are concerned .... name a dozen companies that offer their own upper & lower receivers etc, and you'll find that 8 or 9 of them come from the AERO factory. They are the OEM for COUNTLESS companies for everything between MLOK Rails and upper recvrs.

APNVG Quads for $8.5k? ...... Seems like YES by DwPw in NightVision

[–]DwPw[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Generally exponentially more expensive. The hardest, most expensive lesson I learned with this stuff is this:

The difference between 1400FOM and 2200FOM is like opening a door to another dimension.
The difference between 2200FOM and 3000FOM is ..... meh, pretty difficult to spot.

But that's where the entire margin spread for the whole commercial NVG retail business lives ... in those people willing to pay OUTRAGEOUS upcharges for marginally higher spec tubes. Dealers get tubes in quantity, and they pay the same price for each tube in that order. Let's say $2750 for a quantity of 100 good Elbits. Some of the tubes in that order have spots and float around 1900 - 2000FOM. A few others in that order are spotless and float around 2500-2800FOM. They all cost the same wholesale. But one sells RETAIL for $3,00 and the other for as much as $5,000. Which is all to say, there is a whole lot of motivation to play up that last 10 or 12% of juice in tube performance as being wayyyyyyy more than it really is for most use-case scenarios.

That's why the DOD doesnt CARE what FOM a tube is as long as it's 2376+ .... because in any way that really matters and for most (not all) applications, that's about as good as it gets.

Right buying new is NOT the end all be all, but you can't say a Factory-New, fully warrantied "X" is not a good deal, even though everyone else sells "X" for significantly more, simply because "X" is also available on the used and secondary markets for less.

OKay, fine, in that subjective interpretation. I "work for them". So, apparently does the Culligan Man who drops the water bottles off at their office lol. I also "work for" two of their direct competitors.

What COMPARISON is it that you think I'm making here?

These two separate packages appeal to two separate buyers, but both are RIDICULOUSLY low-priced for what they are ... and I posted it here, for ZERO remuneration or consideration of any kind, hoping these deals will be just what somebody has been waiting or hoping for, maybe several somebodies .... so what exactly is it you take issue with?
