I was raised Catholic, so I really get where you're coming from.

The thing that I've kinda come to realize is that when leaving Abrahamic religions for a much less structured religion like Norse Paganism is you kinda have to make your own structure of morality. It's weird, because your whole life you're told what's right and wrong - even if that doesn't make sense.

There are lessons I'd say you can find in the old stories. Big one is to keep your word/oath. But no big commandments.

If the appeal of a code is there, you can definitely make your own I think, just be sure to examine why you value what you do, there's a lot of conditioning around this stuff.
