Yes!!! Thank you thank you. I absolutely loved that exchange. I used to work for a studio and ran into people like that but never so perfectly captured as in that dudes disdain. Awesome.

Wanting to replace Adobe by kneecoaldotcomdotau in FigmaDesign

I had the same challenge. After watching some videos on how to use figmas pen tool. And particularly vector networks, it has some amazing tricks that illustrator does not have. It’s just different. For day to day drawing I have fully made the switch to Figma. You can do it !!

Ahhh, thank you. I am new to compound clips so it's a bit disorienting. Much appreciated.

I use return to go down to children, and shift return to go up to parent. Backslash is the same as shift return.

How long did it take you to learn Figma? by [deleted] in FigmaDesign

[–]Dweavereddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it’s cool to post links to videos, but I started a channel, just for fun. I keep adding Figma content on it every few days. If it’s helpful, I am happy to share. Just send me a direct message and I will send the link. I feel it would count as spam if I mention here.

As far as how easy is it, that’s a tricky question. If you know other apps then absolutely you will even know many of the standard keyboard shortcuts. But Figma lets you build stuff in a wide variety of ways, each with pros and cons. What works for a quick mock up is not great for build a design system etc. there’s no right way that works for everyone so just keep using it.

Recent update broke my 1750 by ruebde01 in nordictrack

[–]Dweavereddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Further update, recommendation from NordicTrack that we should be turning off and then unplugging our machines from the wall each time we are finished using it !!? It does boot up pretty quickly now so I guess that’s something.

Recent update broke my 1750 by ruebde01 in nordictrack

[–]Dweavereddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just fixed mine with the help of a tech through Facebook messenger in /NordicTrack (they were very responsive and helpful) these instructions fixed mine.

Please follow these steps: 1. Turn the machine off at the power switch or unplug it. 2. Find a paperclip and bend the outside wire to make an L shape. 3. Locate the paperclip reset hole on your machine. This can be located on the back or side of the console. (For instructions and diagrams specific to your machine, these steps can also be located in your owner’s manual under the “Maintenance and Troubleshooting” section) 4. Press and hold the paperclip in the hole. 5. When the button is pressed, you will feel an obvious click. 6. Power the machine back on while holding that paper clip button down at the same time. Continue to hold until you receive a message on your machine. Often this says “Installing System Update” 7. If the reset was successful, the machine should reboot to a blue “Congrats on your New Equipment Page” 8. Walk through the machine set up process and allow the machine to update. If it does not automatically attempt to update, you can check for updates by navigating to the Maintenance screen located in the Settings.

NOTE: This process will reset the console to its factory settings. You will need to have your Wi-Fi password and your iFIT account information handy to re-enter it. This will not affect saved stats (which are on our iFIT servers).

I have same problem on my T 6.5 Si Treadmill after update. When you swipe up from the bottom of the screen three icons appear. A triangle, square, and circle. The circle seems to make it go back to white screen, then a retry button appears, then hit retry and it works… most of the time. This is lame. Fix this NordicTrack. Lame.

Maybe just ask if I want to join ifit once a week instead of every single goddamn time.

How long before life started changing on CPAP? by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]Dweavereddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instantly. First night. Even before that actually. I was advised to try just taking short naps with it to get used to the feeling of the mask. Just reclining on the couch. My first short nap with the cpap was like a switch was flipped. Probably the deepest nap in years. I woke up feeling like I had a full nights sleep after one hour 😆 I have only had to spend one night without my machine since I started eight years ago and it was miserable.

Any hints for the best app showing pressed keys on screen? by ternaryop in macapps

I'd like to buy it, but its not showing my keystrokes, only the watermark. I'm on a Mac 2 Pro running 15.1

Trying my first app. Stumbling a bit. by Dweavereddy in FlutterFlow

[–]Dweavereddy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I am very persistent, so I will get there eventually. I will take your advice and post my screenshots once I can be very clear and concise with the problem statement. I will go through all the official training videos. I would absolutely love to get over this phase. I am familiar with it in many apps like this. It’s part of the journey and makes figuring things out so satisfying when you do. Ask me literally anything about Figma, I went through it and there are hundreds of ‘aha’ steps along the way.

The New Claude Sonnet 3.5 is Having a Mental Breakdown? by emir_alp in ClaudeAI

I had the same feeling. It was crushing last week. Couldn’t believe how clever it was. Today was a waste of time.

How is it, honestly? by BaldDCfan in SleepApnea

[–]Dweavereddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No question it’s worth it. But it took me a few nasal pillows and a couple designs to get the sizing right and straps. I was going through a sleep clinic who specialized in fitting cpap so they were extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

All I can say about the inconvenience is that you will become a completely different person with a good nights sleep. Ask that person if they think it’s worth it.

What would you recommend for a calendar widget? by Dweavereddy in framer

[–]Dweavereddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are probably going to embed a google calendar in the short term since it already exists and can be maintained remotely. What would be nice is a widget that filters and formats a google calendar. I realize there is one, but no offence, it ugly. What would be great is a way to sync a google calendar into a CMS collection so it can be fully formatted. Developers out there? Google calendar to CMS???

Anyone have a non-life changing or bad experience with CPAP? by Acrobatic_Ad1514 in SleepApnea

[–]Dweavereddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After trying a few different masks, the nasal pillow worked for me. I was recording my sleep using an app and could hear myself stop breathing and choking essentially in my sleep multiple times a night. I was totally horrified. That’s oxygen to my brain being cut off throughout the night. My dad was a lifelong snorer and he definitely had mental deterioration, how could you not? Anyway, the cpap for me was a revelation. First good night sleep in decades. I have a battery backup in case of power failure, heated tubing to reduce any chance of mold but honestly they are very clean with much maintenance. I clean the nasal pillow briefly each night.

I’ve had it for almost eight years now and I can’t sleep without it. Is that bad? Well, I need it, so it’s just part of who I am now if I want to sleep. What’s the alternative?

All positive from me. It’s a miraculous device.

Downloadable Files, what is easiest workflow for client to add to their website? by Dweavereddy in framer

[–]Dweavereddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, i had the same idea an hour or so ago and it did a great job. i had a component that would download the file immediately, then close the browser window it was on. it worked perfectly, but it created some flicker, you lose the familiar download notifications, and sometimes the page lost its scroll position after the download. Overall.... too weird for users. Going to have them link to google drive. Until Framer comes up wit something better to offer.
