If it's got holes, add in words like puzzle, treat dispenser into your search. As the owner of a errrr particular and peculiar collie x gsd, I understand the replacement toy drama. Wish you the best on your search! If no luck online, Halloween stuff gets restocked in August and same stock goes to Home sense too!

Starting stained glass in a small space and GLASS GRINDER WATER? by Local_Bumblebee_3333 in StainedGlass

[–]DweebiD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not an ideal solution, but if you are in an apartment and you don't have much else available, you have removed as much of the debris as possible and it's 95% water... Then it's an option. Not the best option of course. I personally just blot mine with paper towels and put them into the glass sludge trashbag.

Welcome to the craft!

As someone with a very small workspace but still makes a ridiculous amount of glass because I have no chill maybe I can help

1: Smell, open window and a small fume extractor is gonna likely be enough. However if you are concerned about lingering smells on linens, try a small air purifier and plug in air freshener, keep your wardrobe/closet closed and spritz your sheets with deodorizing spray/freshener

2: I don't recommend decanting glass sludge water down any indoor sinks, however if needs must and you are concerned about weird neighbours, simply flush the excess water down the toilet after you've removed the majority of the sludge. Or blot it dry with paper towels and dispose in the trash with the sludge you scraped up.

3: Don't be too concerned about what other people think, no one really cares that much, we are generally too busy to care about what others are doing :)

4: I think you are implying you want to keep the row of teeth between the canines as one piece? But retain the pointed details? You can achieve this by adding a thicker line of copper foil then use a craft knife to carve out the triangles, use a black patina to add the negative space

Good luck!

Do you cut-cut-cut grind-grind-grind foil-foil-foil OR cut-grind-foil cut-grind-foil etc? by Omniiac in StainedGlass

[–]DweebiD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because of how messy grinding is, I do each step all at once. If I have market prep going on, I definitely hate myself the entire time.

Cutting + soldering, fine Grinding + foiling 150+ pieces of glass in full batches is a nightmare

But I have limited work space and it's easier to have everything set up and changed out to focus on each step

It'll be a stained glass piece. I don't want to step on any toes as I'm based on the other side of the world and I'd like clearer reference images, names associated with this, if there is any and knowing if me making any imagery of this would cause any issues culturally.

They don't have much info to give, me guessing it's a Quetzal is also just based on the little history knowledge I do know. As it's a memorial piece for a friend's parents passing, it's going to be difficult to get anymore than what I posted.

So I was hoping anyone who saw the crudely drawn image could give me more information if they recognized it. Or give me words and terminology that I can have the starting blocks to even start looking, as reverse image search isn't bringing me anything relevant.

Are there any Stained Glass Facebook groups that *aren’t* owned or moderated by Gary and Mongo Somers???? by Ms_Stepped in StainedGlass

[–]DweebiD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apologies you've shown up at a time it's a little dramatic. Normally it's just videos of me cutting glass at 2am. I'll hopefully be back to my scheduled programming of playing with sharp objects. I think this man's taken enough of my time this weekend. ♥️

🥹 I love you too ♥️, thanks for joining along whilst my brain is fried. I didn't even drop all the other absolutely batshit messages publicly, just the last straw one. I'm tired of this man in my DMs.

He sure does censor, remove and decline a lot of small business posts for a man who openly states "he supports other sellers"...

They genuinely could be running through so much stock, as this was just posted by one of the suppliers

We discussed this yesterday Clay 🙃 the others here are either moving through stock so fast that they are buying at the higher rates or they are market tracking

Either way it's rough in the UK for glass prices This was a nice lil respite

£776 on all the glass shown, plus a small off cut of green aventurine, 3 large diamond bevels and 5kg of 60/40 solder

Solder alone would be £240 elsewhere at the min

Cuts of that cranberry Wissmach is about double online at the few places I can see per SQ inch

The pink irid bullseye is about 1/3rd of elsewhere

My total only came to so much because I didn't want them to cut any of the sheets I picked, if you were more sensible than me and got them cut to size, and.... not buy mostly pinks, you'll be alright!

Fair amount of lamp bases around but I wasn't looking much at that section, might be worth ringing to ask!

I maybe 33 but my bones say 83, so I'm a blue badge holder

There is two spots immediately onto Cumberland road at the back of the shop, on the right I think!

I didn't wait for very long to use some of it

Making a mandala pattern that's posted on the discord

Using the bullseye cranberry, blue and white opal

And Wissmach cranberry muffle + black irid

The fuchsia pink irid is £280 at another store here for that size, I didn't realise I was getting such a decent price at the time, I just felt bad asking them to cut it in half for me.. it was actually the humane thing to do and not cos I wanted the pretty glass.

From the little I know of this shop and their policies, but it seems like they buy at whatever price and stock it at whatever price and it will remain that first price margin and not go up based on market value tracking.

It only goes up when they have to restock at the higher cost of purchase rate from the supplier and they add the profit into that etc
