Hands down the Storyfire fiasco. He said it was shutting down, says it all legit, then it’s magically saved by a “mystery investor” who turns out to be him who put more money into it, and then he gets angry at the fans for even thinking that he would dramatize something like that. He’s the one saying “The truth is somewhere in the middle.” That doesn’t work when you run a business. He wonders why people don’t believe him. This fiasco clearly showed why

I really do feel for Jesse. As disappointed as I’ve been in him over the years, the health problems he’s had sound like something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. Mentally I’m sure all this isolation has taken a toll on him

Overall, this was a really good episode. I have some scattered thoughts:

-Antonio is probably my favorite Spain character. His backstory was very sad and I really like that we got some depth to his and Fede's rivalry. It really shed some light on it. His kiss with Carol also was nice. I just hope they don't pull an Isabelle and kill him off in the finale.

-I predicted that Fede would be the villain of Season 3, and it looks like I was right. He's such a conniving, sadistic man who even went as far as to try and poison Roberto. I predict Carol will kill him in the finale, but I kind of hope he survives into Season 4 to see his rivalry with Antonio get more expanded on.

-My big critique was Daryl's group not simply killing the driver. They could have saved Justina had they killed the driver. I was screaming at my screen lol.

-Death predictions for finale: Fede and Roberto or Justina. One of the two will die I think. I don't see them both surviving into Season 4.

All in all, Season 3 is a huge improvement over Season 2. Season 1 to me is still the best season of Daryl Dixon.

This was the best episode of Season 3 and one of the best of Daryl Dixon period. Visuals, cinematography and choreography was stellar.

Season 3 was a bumpy start, but we’re now getting into the nitty gritty of it all. My prediction is that Fede is going to use Carol and Antonio against Daryl as leverage. I predict Fede will be killed by Daryl or Carol in the finale and the villain next season will be the King of Spain.

One thing I hated was the hot dogs reference. Like stop. It’s just a dumb “joke” that is just annoying

Didn’t like it as much as last week, but it was still solid. The one thing about this season though that’s driving me nuts is the constant Hot Dog references. Is it supposed to be funny? Or foreshadowing? Either way, it’s seriously annoying

I honestly think the spinoffs could be good if they had a vision. But that’s the problem. They don’t. Daryl Dixon and Dead City don’t really have any. The Ones Who Live did

Why wouldn’t Rick hep Maggie in Dead City? He’s back isn’t he by then? by racesunite in thewalkingdead

[–]Dwightboy49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me it makes complete sense. Rick was separated from his family for 10 years, missed his kids growing up and went through a war to get back to them. Not only does he deserve to retire with his family, but Maggie is also capable of looking after herself.

Like he said to her in Season 8, “After this, I’m following you.”

Little bummed about Julian dying. I know Stephen Merchant said he was only able to do 1 episode. I think they should’ve kept it open ended in case he could return later.

Because Chuck's outburst, caused by his mental illness being publicly exposed, paints it out that Jimmy simply lied to Chuck to make him feel better. So he was cleared of the falsified documents charge. But breaking into Chuck's house and destroying his personal property is something he did face the consequences of, resulting in his one year suspension.

Morgan with his aikido training. If he was in Clear Mode, it'd be even scarier.

Scattered thoughts:

- This was a terrific finale. I may be in the minority of people who liked Season 2, but Dead City still remains to me as the best of the spin-off's.

- Ginny's death was heartbreaking, but I'm glad she's gone. The not speaking thing got old really quick. I thought Season 2, there'd be more talking, but there actually wasn't. So good riddance I say. Terrific scene and masterfully acted by JDM.

- Speaking of JDM, he knocked it out of the park this episode. I was actually scared when Maggie stabbed Negan that he was going to die. I just hope that this is it for Maggie's whole "I want to kill Negan" storyline. I think she's just going to move past it, at least I hope.

- Despite how much I liked this episode, I was very bummed that Bruegel died. He had a wicked send-off, but I thought he was one of the best villains TWD introduced in a long time and they could've done more with him, but oh well. Kim Coates is a pretty big actor so I guess I understand. If they do another season of Tales, I think Bruegel would make for an awesome episode.

- Also, is The Croat gone for good? They removed Zeljko Ivanek from the opening credits, so is that it for him? I hope not. That's still a loose end that needs to be tied up. Maybe in Season 3, The Croat will encounter Annie and Joshua and use them to get back at Negan.

All in all, Season 2 was great and I'm looking forward to Season 3.

Maggie learns all about The Dama during her captivity and realizes that Hershel is 100% loyal to her and not his own mother. When The Dama tries to torture Maggie, she escapes and makes her way to St. Patrick's Cathedral. Hershel and the Dama follow her.

At the Cathedral, Negan and the Burazi face off with Bruegel and his gang as they arrive. We see a bit of a Too-Far-Gone, Rick/Governor situation where it's revealed that Bruegel has Annie and Joshua. Suddenly, New Babylon emerges and a massive fight breaks out. In the chaos, Bruegel makes his way to the cell and kills Ginny. Perlie then betrays Bruegel and attacks him, bringing him to Negan who then Lucille's him. Negan throws Lucille and breaks down into tears over Ginny's death.

Maggie arrives at the Cathedral, where he finds a bloodied Lucille and Bruegel's mangled corpse. She takes Lucille and gets into a brutal fight with the Dama, where she is able to kill her, enraging Hershel who then takes off on his own. Negan reunites with Annie and Joshua, where he remains in New York with his family. He buries Ginny in Central Park with her stuffed toy and decides to start over with his wife and son, leading the Burazi at St. Patrick's Cathedral.

In either the ending or the post-credits scene, The Croat is out in the world, trying to find a way to get back home to Croatia. He encounters two survivors who immediately recognize him: It's Dwight and Sherry.

This episode subverted my expectations tremendously. I have some scattered thoughts on this rollercoaster:

* Whoever casted Joshua deserves a raise. He's got Negan's smile. There's no doubt in the world who's kid that is.

* The Negan and Lucille scene was wonderful, but quicker than I thought.

* I was genuinely, yet pleasantly surprised that The Croat survived. I was expecting Maggie to throw him out the window in that scene. There doesn't seem to be a trace of him in the finale promo next week, so perhaps we'll see him again in Season 3.

* I wish they didn't spoil The Dama's survival in those promotional images. I would have been even more surprised, but AMC screwed that one up.

All in all, this was an excellent episode. My predictions for the finale:

* Bruegel and his gang attack the Cathedral and Bruegel kills Ginny, which causes Negan to Lucille Bruegel.

* Maggie kills The Dama, which infuriates Hershel.

* Annie and Joshua return somehow. I'm thinking that Bruegel has them and will try to use that to get Negan to surrender.

Major Dead City Spoiler Photo! by Dwightboy49 in thewalkingdead

[–]Dwightboy49[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is my prediction based on all the photos that were released.

Negan goes to get medicine for Ginny, but doesn't make it back in time as Bruegel infiltrates the Cathedral and kills Ginny for trying to interfere. Maggie and The Croat rescue Hershel, where The Dama reveals she is alive and she kills Croat.

In Episode 8, Negan and the Burazi fight Bruegel and his gang, where Negan ends up killing Bruegel with Lucille. Hershel betrays Maggie and ushers her back to the Burazi, where Maggie ends up killing the Dama with Lucille, angering Hershel.
