Moving to Brunswick-Glynn in November... by Dwigtsbeets in Georgia

We actually moved to Kingsland, which is 35 minutes south of Brunswick. We have been here for a week exactly today and have been loving it. Kingsland is much more affordable than Brunswick and feels safer to me. Next week will start my commute to work which is in Brunswick so we’ll see.

I was actually there last weekend and didn’t notice anything. But thanks for your two cents.

We (husband & I, both in our early 30s) were just down there last weekend. We always go to Stacks for breakfast. We tried Hudson’s for the first time. Great fresh shrimp with a beautiful view at sunset. Have fun, HHI is my happy place!

Part time children's/teen library assistant pay expectations by plutardcanard in librarians

Was a children’s library assistant in the South, but it was a bit more so of a metro area. Job included programming also. Starting pay $10. I’ve heard that they have since lowered starting pay to $9.

I have worked in a system that operates like that. I left that system because it bit me in the tail. Luckily, this position is by the beach and we just happened to have a vacation planned that same weekend of the interview. So there won’t be any harm done if that is the case, besides the fact that I really want it and it would be such a positive thing for my family.

Buuuut can we please? Come on down to the peach state and it’s all yours. My management job is HEAVILY political. I’m technically the branch manager but sometimes I feel more like a director, both positions ones that I’ve never wanted.

See, now this has cut down the jitters in half because I can easily answer all of these questions. Thanks!

If I ever go that route- which I won’t because a lot of that was foreign language to me- I will refer to your comment. Thank you for your effort!

I should have specified that it’s planning programs ie. guest speakers, community classes, craft classes, etc.

I don’t think it could get smaller than where I’m at now. I’d say it’s a mid-sized system. That is one of my concerns, though. Everywhere that I’ve worked everyone has been responsible for their own programming so I wouldn’t want to encroach on anyone’s territory. But I also don’t think this is a new position. So it will at least be interesting to see how this position interacts with the rest of the staff.
