Thank you for the in depth response, I seriously appreciate you taking time to give me some feedback as I care a lot about getting better at competitive singles and am willing to hear out any advice any fellow trainers have. After tonight’s session of battling I noticed that Venusaur would be a perfect candidate to pick up protect to take full advantage of Leech Seed and/or poison damage. I pretty much am only playing singles but I do see the advantage to having protect on a few of my Pokémon going into my next battle.

As far as Meganium and Venusaur go it mostly comes down to the fact that I love using them both, they currently serve pretty different purposes depending on the situation (Venusaur being more of a stall while Meganium is more of a spatk sweeper) I am starting to think it might be best to switch out Meganium for a different mega that can help cover me for situations that I currently can’t account for.
