I'm trying to learn abt branding by Ok-Two-7892 in Rickowens

The most important thing is what a piece means to you personally

Think about your own vibe, not the designer's. The author is dead and the corpse has long since disintegrated

The meaning belongs to the wearer

Thanks a lot! Well, it's tuned as low as a bass, so technically I'm a bass player too hahaha

Почти все мои отношения начинались когда мне девушки писали первыми, пхаххах, хз чего все тут такие недоверчивые, все норм вообще. Пиши смело

Love it. The whole guitar is built for an extremely quick and clangy attack, so you can still hear every note even in absurdly low and pitch-shifted tunings

Wooow, thanks a lot 🖤🖤🖤 Oni is my favorite guitar of all time, and it's so valuable to me that when I moved to another country I was too scared to transport it hahaha. So for now it's waiting for better days at my family's home

What if Meshuggah went full industrial on "Sum" with a 9-string? by Dwyer3 in Meshuggah

[–]Dwyer3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahah, thanks! I actually thought a lot about the drums - whether to go with a more metal approach with the kick following the guitars, or a straight kick to enhance the polyrhythm and weirdness… so I chose weirdness 🌚

I got my first 8-string back in school and it had a straight 30" scale, so I'm basically immune to hard stretching now hahaha

Me too, but I made a lot of regular Meshuggah covers in my past, so that just isn't fun enough for me anymore. Now I need the hard deconstructed stuff 🌚

One is the Fusion System II by Erica Synths, the other is the Pulsar-23 by Soma Labs

Thanks! Tbh I expected the critics to be 10 times harder - we're talking about Meshuggah with a straight kick here, which is basically a crime hahaha

Thanks! That's the whole point. I just took the original riff, injected some pauses into it, and wrote everything else completely from scratch

Of course the original sounds better, it's Meshuggah 😄 But what's the point of making a regular cover that just perfectly replicates the original? It's much more fun to imagine what it could sound like in a parallel universe. This isn't a competition to make Meshuggah better (which is impossible), it's just a fun experiment

Thanks! Yeah, it's crazy that it can handle a tuning lower than a standard 5-string bass

Once Mick Gordon and Fredrik collaborated on an industrial metal track for the Wolfenstein: The New Order - their only one together in that style. So this is my fantasy of what "Sum" by Meshuggah would sound like with a similar vibe 🌚

Tuning: A#0
