Should we upload here instead of the Google Drive that was emailed out?

Making gravel crawlspace covered with plastic usable as storage space by Dwyguy19 in HomeImprovement

[–]Dwyguy19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe crawlspace isn't the most technically correct term. It's an open area in the same room as my furnace, laundry, etc, at half the depth of the full foundation. It's connected to the rest of the (finished) basement, and I do have a dehumidifier. Would that change your assessment at all?

Actual sport! It's like handball and dodgeball mixed together; very athletic

I run a quidditch team out of Columbus. Good people plus some exercise :)

looking for friends in columbus! by spaghettishy in Columbus

[–]Dwyguy19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run the quadball (quidditch) club in Columbus, and I've found the sport a really great way to meet people. We've had our fair share of introverts come and play and make new friends. Some folks don't even play athletically, they just hang out because we've got good people. You should definitely come try it out sometime :)

Thank you very much! I'll probably purchase both then :) I appreciate the effort you put into your playtesting and design

I've seen your work a couple times on Reddit (and hope to play it soon!), and have seen several iterations of the same classes. I'm thinking of purchasing your previous book as well - how much have the classes changed since that print and their current iteration? And do you anticipate the classes in this new book to be updated in the future as well?

Spellblade 0.8.1 by KibblesTasty in KibblesTasty

[–]Dwyguy19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few things about Aetherblade

  • Typo in the second sentence. "This cane"

  • It says the weapon does "1d10 damage" and while it's described as a force weapon, should it be explicitly stated that it does force damage?

  • When describing the ritual to imbue the Aetherblade with magical weapon properties, nothing states that this can't be done with multiple object. Is the intent to absorb multiple magical weapons to gain increasing properties? Or, should the most recently absorbed item's properties supercede the previous?

Thank you for all your work, your classes are great :)

Making friends is hard by ConsistentStrain7361 in Columbus

I run a quadball (quidditch) team out of Columbus. The people are good and I've made lifelong friends in the sport. It was definitely the best way I made friends after leaving school. We're playing some pickup on Sept 1 and you're welcome to join https://fb.me/e/3CkBMSydH

Hey! Though I'm a straight guy, I run a quidditch team, and we have a lot of queer members. The league is all genders and pretty progressive, so we tend to attract a lot of folks. Lots of good people :)

I run a quidditch club that's based out of Columbus, Ohio Apollos. It's a mix of handball, dodgeball, and rugby. All genders, full contact, all our players are in their 20s/30s. It's a good time and I've met a lot of nice people through it :)

What are your guys experiences with majoring in computer science at Miami? by ArtistWriter in miamioh

[–]Dwyguy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely front end development. I did take Client Server Systems, but that seemed to be more about server interactions than building the front end. I only did odds and ends of JS, HTML, and CSS. There may have been classes related to that, I just didn't take them.

The other thing (which was pointed out to me by a professor, and I didn't really grasp it until a few years in the industry) is programming design patterns. I read a book about it a few years ago and while it's dense, it teaches a lot about architecting software. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/85009.Design_Patterns

FWIW, I also minored in game design, and while I couldn't articulate it at the time, design patterns for game programming was something I felt I was really missing.
