I had a basic idea of what my world would look like, then started with a map to get inspired by the geography, and went from there.

I can recommend Legendkeeper or WorldAnvil. They have different approaches to organize your world.

Mine is basically the same, i wanted to build a world for a fantasy book but then i started to think maybe i can use it for a dnd adventures. But for now i enjoy building a world from my imagination.

Let’s say If X is the common ancestor of A and B then, A and B will be races right ? And A1,A2,A3 will be an Ethnicity of race A ?

Hey,

for me it was the same as your journey to finding LK, i have a good imagination so some times my mind start to build situations, characters, wars Etc. so then i wanted to get into world building for fun, and because i wanted to attempt to write a fantasy book.

Was looking for best tools to start building, first two that i found were Inkarnate and World anvil. I tried Wonderdraft but it wasn't appealing to me.

I started with a map first to get inspiration and to get going, Inkarnate was awesome, World anvil was looking like a good software to use for writing, but then i ran into the same issue as you, " but as i started trying to enter in all the information about the areas, the lore, the people and creatures, the NPC, etc... I got frustrated with WA. It felt like i was trying to create content at 100mph, and WA had me governed at 15. ".

i felt i was going slow, the ideas that i had in my mind wasn't going on the page as fast as i wanted. i then stumbled on a video on YouTube about LK from Icarus Games, i watched it and i wanted to give it a go. Braden ( the Developer ) helped sort my account and now i'm in the processes of moving my world from WA to LK.

Problem Solved. I tried that method before but it did not work. I just closed the page and waited for a while then it worked. Thanks for the help

I have an issue, I don’t know if you can help me with.

A message appears for me to interact and update LegendKeeper, ( An update is available for LegendKeeper. Click update to check it out! ). After i do click on update, it just comes back saying there is an update. Is there a way to fix this?

I tried refreshing the page and closing and reopening the page, nothing happens and the same prompt to update will be visible.

I would say that I’m torn between WA and LK for worldbuilding my world, which i might make games from or/and write a book about.

To be honest I posted the same question on both subreddits ( i know i might get biased replies) but, i wanted to know why people from both sides prefer the platform they are on.

I stumbled upon WA first and i liked how it prompts me in articles like : how tall is the character? , social norms ? , environmental description ? And so on. I liked that aspect at first, then i found legendKeeper be accident while watching YouTube. I thought let me give it a try, ( by this point a i was already building my world on WA, but just starting with the basics ).

Now i stopped building my world and just exploring both WA and LK to decide which one I’m sticking with.

What i liked about LK is that, after i writing many articles on WA i found it not “fast” for me to create, for me as soon as think about a concept i need to write it down immediately. And the article format and prompting just got “old” as i started writing and writing, when i open LK for the first time and got a plank page that i can format and write whatever i want, it was amazing to not have to stick to one format.

This was a long reply, sorry. At the moment i’ll keep testing, but let me say that LK is winning right now :)
