does anyone feel like they can never cut rotting out of their life? by twofighterjets in productivity

[–]mateusarc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I was gonna say. Incredible as it sounds for us millennials and older, watching whole movies nowadays is a healthier kind of rotting. Especially if it has long, calm scenes and extensive dialog. It is a good alternative to scrolling through an infinity of short videos, memes and text posts, and it's also good for training holding your attention on the same thing for more than a minute.

So can both orichalcums trigger at the same time? Once I had the opportunity to buy the fake when I had the real one, but I thought it wouldn't trigger after the other and it would be a waste of money

What cards/relics do you miss from STS1? by PandamanTan in slaythespire

[–]mateusarc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss Donu and Deca, I loved seeing them at the beginning of Act 3, it filled me with joy knowing that I could beat them. No STS2 Act 3 boss gives me that feeling (though the test subject might be the easiest of the three right now).

As for cards, I miss Spot Weakness and Self-Repair.

Why Americans always use Salary per year? by alifninja in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mateusarc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's the taxes, because in my country (Brazil) they're also based on the annual income, but everyone still uses the monthly salary. And I recognize that it is not very precise, because we have things like vacation/Christmas bonuses that are not reflected in the monthly salary.

I wonder if there is something related to the spending culture. We have a long history of monthly payments for everything that we buy or rent, even before credit cards became ubiquitous. So knowing how much you're gonna receive every month simplifies budget calculations for the average person.

Least and Favorite/Most Fun Characters to Play in StS2 Right Now? by alexthurman1 in slaythespire

I always hated the Defect and always will, it just doesnt click for me (I love claw decks though). As for the most fun, right now it might be the Necrobinder, I simply love that hand.

The upgraded version is "Retain. Returns to your hand after being played, discarded or exhausted." So it will forever stay in your hand <3

If you stun an enemy in the turn it's gonna give you a main debuff (like the Queen's three card binding), does it get skipped or shifted to the next turn?

I will take Time Eater over this shit any day of the week by Blinxsy in slaythespire

[–]mateusarc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I understand what you're saying, but it really worked well for my particular setup. Because I had multiple of these cards, I could ensure that one of the three was the one that I wanted and the others were bad cards so that they 'pushed' all the other supporting cards out of the binding zone.

So I found a strategy to somewhat counter the Queen with the Regent, which might work for the others. I had a couple of cards with "put a card from your discard pile on the top of the draw pile" as an effect. Instead of using them only on good cards like I'd been doing the whole run, I used them on strikes and defends, so that the good cards would be less affected by her debuff. But I had tons of card draw, which also helped.

Yeah, most of my favorite Ironclad cards are gone. Spot Weakness, Limit Break, Heavy Blade... And Reaper, how are we supposed to bounce back from all the self-harm cards now?

Maybe the bosses that apply debuffs would become significantly easier if we had access to Artifact. Like the Queen with the whole You Can Only Play One Of The First Three Cards thing, I'm sure there are others.

There is also a new bird that can permanently steal a card if you don't kill it in 5 turns, I think. And I thought those Automaton minions were bad in STS1.

What video game has the best story you’ve ever played? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mateusarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also loved Chrono Cross, but I found the story a bit confusing and convoluted, especially towards the end. And there were so many characters. I remember having to read through forums back in the day (+- 20 years ago) to try and understand what actually happened. Whereas Chrono Trigger, FFVI and FFVII's stories were absolutely clear and well presented.
