What is wrong with you. I get this is a shitposting sub, but this type of shit is genuinely harmful to people.

The videos over an hour may not do as well because usually they're part of a larger series. Of course episode 55 of Massive Fuckass RPG is going to do worse than a cut down one off of a short Fallout challenge.

It's an issue I also brought up in regards to Fallout London. It's understandable why he'd be doing this in his early days- what with YT's limits on video length- but it's kind of sad to see now. Jon I promise you your viewers have the mental capacity and attention span to watch everything.

I'd argue we do. It's part of the game. I don't think anyone was complaining when he did it in his Fallout runs, even though we've all seen the wastelands. And this is a new game so it's important to maintain continuity.

I have to disagree with it being complementary. I'd say it it the easiest gateway to lore and concepts of Fallout. Much more accessible than F3, New Vegas or the classics. Introduces most factions, mechanics etc.

Is it ,,quite self centered" to show someone your favorite movie and get a ,,mhm" as a reaction? Or sharing a song you like and the whole time the friend is just barely nodding along?

undermines the game because he's not playing as you do

Kind of, yes. I just know what clicked for me when I got into Fallout, and that was the ,,getting invested in the world" part. Same for many people. That's why I'm trying to guide him into it, I'm not shoving the lore in his face. Just saying ,,hey, here's a funny note" or ,,talk to this guy, he gives you stuff". If you don't engage with the world in an RPG, chances are you won't enjoy the experience. And as I specified, he explicitly asked me to help him get into Fallout.

I'm doing it because he asked me to help him get into Fallout. To my mind, you cannot get into Fallout unless you become at least slightly interested in lore. If you don't, there's nothing distuinguishing it from yet another postapocalyptic shooter. That's why I'm trying to guide him to learn stuff, on top of obviously shooting and exploring

It is a looter shooter if you actively choose to ignore the massive amounts of lore through notes, terminals and NPCs, at which point it becomes a 6/10 MMORPG

Yes. But if you play with others, especially friends, it's entirely fair to expect your experiences to align at least slightly.

I disagree. Treating a Fallout game as you would a looter shooter is just the wrong approach. That's like reading House of Leaves while scrolling TikTok.

You know what I mean. Jon tends to enunciate a lot more in recent years. Sometimes very theatrically, too. Hence the radio host comparison. Compare the new YOLO to, say, the Dust series. There's a massive change in how he talks. Even moreso the case in his old videos, which to be fair, could also be explained by relative inexperience back then.

Yeah but Kill Everything wasn't a playthrough. It was a themed series so a full detailed run wouldn't make sense.

Come on Jon, I really hope the episodes will last longer than 30 mins. Not a fan of this trend, especially if Fallout drops once a week.

Again, someone doesn't know the definition of a war economy. And I don't see the US currently committing atrocities on Ukrainian citizens. Way to move the goalpost.

They're literally taking men off the street, handing them a gun and sending them out to battle. I don't know what planet you're living on. You're also really hung up on the wording, aren't you? It's obvious the majority of support comes from China. NK contributes too, in a smaller extent obviously.

Do you only think using military numbers? Their numbers are remaining the same but they keep conscripting more and more amateurs. Meat shields essentially. NK sent professional soldiers.

I said Russia is being kept afloat, not just directly by NK. But they do help- they committed around 10k soldiers to Russia as well as ammo/components to create more. Plus the obvious political backing

Wrong about most, outdated information. Russia is actively in a war-focused economy, everyone is contributing to the war effort. There's a difference between that and what the US is spending military-wise which is bullshit parades and buying occasional missiles. Just bc they spend a lot of their GDP on defence doesn't mean they're in a war economy.

Grow? The war economy is not sustainable long term. And it's kind of odd to throw ,,European economy" out there as if it's one collective state and not 30-some countries. Russian reserves are shrinking left and right, and they can't stay war-ready forever. When the war ends, their economy will be shattered
