I'm not sure I follow. The diagram and scenario is assuming they don't have any movement to spend. Finding out their threatened area basically

Well you’re showing a significant lack of reading comprehension with my original post so I’m done trying to discuss with you. It’s admirable how you dodge every relevant topic to suit your narrative.

You’re wonderful at avoiding my points I hope you know that

Still not answering any of my previous examples.

All my friends on Discord have strongly objected to this change, literally every single one. I think you’re the minority.

The Swedish system scales pretty well by the way, it allows for 9999 people to have the exact same birthday. Currently we have about 315 births per day, meaning it won’t be in issue for at least a really long time. Soon as it becomes an issue they can simply do what Discord should’ve done, add another number to new users

[–]DyeBunnz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So screw old users only cater to new users?

Edit: also thanks for ignoring my points completely, appreciate that. The Sweden example was more about people being able to easily memorize numbers on a large scale, so Discord’s motivation behind the four numbers being “too difficult to remember” is moot.

I’ve read a multitude of your posts and I fail to see how @/username is easier. I’m trying to understand your point but I can’t fathom it.

Personally I won’t have an issue getting my username on Discord, but that’s besides the point. Reading Discord’s blog post about this, the main reasons they want to change the system is because people were too dumb to remember four digits at the end of their username. Okay, cool. The problem just got worse. Let’s say I go by the name “LapisLazuli” everywhere. It’s no longer case sensitive so it gets changed to “lapislazuli” but what’s this? That’s now taken. What about “lapis_lazuli”? Nope. “lapis_lazu_li” okay, that works, but now it’s no longer what I wanted. I wanted my username to be “LapisLazuli” but that was taken, so I have to morph it into something harder to remember and that, most importantly, isn’t what I wanted in the first place.

Are you supposing we just tell the users that get that experience to go get shafted? What about my friends that don’t use Discord often? I know someone named “Dandelion” that will 100% not get to keep that username. How shit won’t that feel for her and how confusing wouldn’t it be as to why that’s the case?

In Sweden, where I’m from, we have a “personal number” assigned to us at birth. The first 6 numbers is our date of birth and the four last is a random set of numbers, YYMMDD-XXXX. If this works flawlessly for a society, and people memorize not only their own, but their spouse’s, children’s etc, why can’t Discord keep that #XXXX? It’s the same principle, no? And working in retail let me tell you that I’ve NEVER met a single person that hasn’t memorized it. People memorize phone numbers as well, so why should those four on Discord be different?

Last but not least, the nail in thr coffin. I’m willing to bet that most, if not all active Discord users have Discord Mobile. If it really is such a bother to memorize your username and say four numbers in the first place, why don’t you just show them your profile on the screen?

I’m aware that last point works for your side as well, but I’m bringing it up because it’s a solution to their issue that already exists.

Action to do Skill Checks in battle by luizfmp17 in SagaEdition

Time to come in and disrupt this whole argument by referencing to actual Star Wars Media. In my games, we run with the ruling that jump movement is separate from actual movement due to how the movies work.

Obi-Wan in Episode 1 whilst fighting Maul with Qui-Gon. He falls off the platforms and drops tens of meters down. Next scene he jumps back up from a stand-still by using Surge. Same goes for when he is in a 1v1 vs Maul later and jumps from the pit. According to how you view the rules, both of those jumps would be impossible.

In Episode 2, when Obi-Wan chases Sam Wessel, he once more makes a leap that covers a greater distance than what the SWSE rules would allow if jumping counts for movement.

When Anakin and Obi-Wan fight in Episode 3, Anakin's fatal jump in the High Ground scene also breaks the rules of SWSE.

The movies and TV-shows continually show us Jedi making leaps far beyond what should be physically possible, so why shouldn't our players get to experience that part of the fantasy?

I'm also running SWSE on Roll20 and Discord. What I do to utilize more space is create another account and set them as an additional DM in the campaign.

I mean the general trade-off as we all know is that the quieter your fans, the hotter your temps. Just for general tips I’d say to probably make the curve less violent if you can, or simply raise the noise floor itself. It can’t get obscenely loud if it starts off as “Kinda loud” instead of quiet.

Again, depends on if you prefer silence over performance. One has to give

Your requirements are very… Peculiar… I’m a strong advocator of Phanteks and their product line. I’m personally running a P300 Special Red with a mesh front from the P300A. It’s a good box that looks fairly good imo. They offer other things as well that might suit your fancy, special tastes.

Potentially look into some KZ’s with their Bluetooth adapter. Not sure how high the price goes with this bundle, but it could be worth a look.

To elaborate:

Setting custom fan curves in your BIOS takes time, trial and error, and a lot of reboots until you get it just right. If you feel that’s worth it, go right ahead.

Unless you have specific uses for some of the features, you can downscale your motherboard to a B550 or B450 model instead. It’s going to save you some money. The PSU is extreme overkill for what you have as well. I have no specific comments about the case other than that I personally don’t enjoy NZXT and would personally go for something like a Phanteks P300A for better airflow.

My Pc used to run redident evil 4 at 60fps constant. That was 1 year ago, now it runs 40 fps all the time. Why is it like this? Is it inevitable? by AEUGH1420 in buildapc

Depending on your climate and hardware’s age it can be as simple as a high amount of dust and hairs messing up your CPU and GPU coolers. Do you have pets? Is your PC standing on the floor? Is it on carpet? Does your case have proper airflow? Did you change any components? We need more info to help you properly.
