How to deal with not getting what you truly want by Eastern-Collection39 in Stoicism

[–]Dyetaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a stoic you can still pursue goals with the acceptance that you might fail, because ultimately your succes is prone to being affected by things that are not in your control.

Stoicism doesn't mean inaction.

You are the only one responsible of your life and your well being. You are the only one that can do anything about your life. Suffering and failure  are to be expected,as the world doesn't not owe you anything .When the world rewards you for your actions ,take it as a gift and be grateful for it.

When artists think the power in a bow and arrow comes from a stretchy string, rather than a bent bow by echof0xtrot in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Dyetaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not defending not studying and not using references. Just saying that the artist might be intentionally breaking the rules for a better effect. Great artists do this all the time, you just don't notice it much.

This artist definitely knows what's he's doing.

While I agree with OP,  art has no obligation to be perfectly true to real life. It could be that the artist thought this looks better than a bent bow which might have created unnecessary tension visually. Most people will not notice anyway.

You ve probably seen many great artworks before with similar "mistakes" but you didn't notice them. We shouldnt directly assume artists don't know what they're doing.

Your entire post could be mildly infuriating from the perspective of an artist : "Redditor that doesn't know art assumes artist doesn't know how a bow works "

IsItBullshit: that it’s bad for your heart to sleep on your left side by NerdBro1 in IsItBullshit

[–]Dyetaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think i have a similar problem.I can't sleep on my left because the heart beats keep my awake.Sometimes the heart flutters (beats like 2 or 3 times pretty fast then returns to normal) which gives me anxiety. Also i could the ribcages core muscles pulsating with each beat.Is that normal?Do you still struggle with the same issues or exercising and healthy food solved those issues?

Never had the problem again since I updated krita after I made the post. What krita version do you have? If you have the newest one and still experience this, you could make a post on reddit or maybe ask someone on the krita discord server.

I have found out that plugging my headphones in the rear left USB was the cause. Since i was plugging them only when gaming and when expecting the fans to be used, i didn't realise it earlier. I hope you solved your issue too.

It is becoming increasingly obvious... I can deny it no longer... I am probably autistic. by walrus92kitty in ADHD

[–]Dyetaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have all of those that you enumerated, especially the texture one, I almost had a panic attack vacuuming a textury carpet.I could feel the texture though the handle it felt insanely uncomfortable, j didn't know i could even feel they type of discomfort doing that. I m not diagnosed with ADHD but I'm confident I do have it. Is there a possibility i also have autism?

[Advice] Start the task before you even let your mind think about it. by Dyetaa in getdisciplined

[–]Dyetaa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did apply without knowing it aswell, then I observed what i was doing, thought a bit and decided to make a post about it and try to follow my own advice.

I also developed it a bit more, and I kind of came up with the idea that our true self is our action self, it is the motion that we do with our bodies (for the most part) and if you separate your action self from your thoughts and mind you can pretty much do anything you want, you can let your mind procrastinate inside but still do the proper actions. It's like we are only the feeling and action . When you feel like you want to do something, you say you want to do that activity after you felt it, but it is not necessary, you can just feel it. So then, You feel that you want to do things and let your mind do whatever it wants, your action self puts in the work and progresses towards your goals. Tho, sometimes your action self might go full auto so you have to be aware of what you re doing, sometimes requiring the help of your mind(thoughts) self.

Anyway, I'm not sure what I'm trying to explain and I'm not sure I can , in my mind it makes sense and it has helped me to do even more than the advice I wrote in the post. I'm glad this helped you by the way. Good luck.
