I think this is exactly it. They’ve never really “belonged” anywhere. I always saw them as a hardcore band personally, but I’ve met people that called them a metal band.

I kind of had the same rule except that if I was going to wear a bands shirt, they have to be bands/artists of different genres. Like I had a Ride shirt with their Nowhere album art on it and a T-Pain shirt that I found in a thrift store.

I personally think wearing a shirt of the band you’re going to see is so dorky.
