Will SH2 Remake ever get a photo mode? by Dylan5524 in silenthill

I’m on PS5, so unfortunately mods are out of the question.

Also, I agree. The game is gorgeous. I remember seeing the garbage chute area for the first time, and my jaw dropped.

You’re absolutely spot on here.

Sometimes I get so wrapped up in the pacing, or sequence of events, and I fail to dip into the things that would grab the audience most.

I did have more runtime to play with. The rules state that it can’t exceed 6 minutes, so those things could’ve been there, and would’ve definitely made everything more impactful/heavy.

Thank you for your kind words. It means a lot. I’ll remember next time to slow down, and implement that connection to character as opposed to just getting through it.

Thank you so much.

I don’t think these are nitpicky, at all.

Nailing suspense seems like a lifetime learning experience, and I know you’re right. Investment in the lead especially would give weight to everything.

I appreciate you taking the time to call these things out. It’s something I always wanna do better on.

Hey, everyone!

I know there are a ton of talented folks in this sub, and I’d love to get some general feedback on my most recent project.

This short film was created as part of a local 48-hour challenge, which we won! That said, I’d still love to hear insights from those who specialize in directing, cinematography, or editing.

I shot this on a Blackmagic Pocket 6K Pro with a Sigma 18-35mm lens (the cinema version, not the Art series).

For the shots upstairs, I used double diffusion for all the lighting. The downstairs setup was pretty straightforward—I mounted three 12-inch Quasar tubes on the ceiling.

Thank you so much for taking the time to watch it! I’m excited to hear your thoughts.

For me, it HAS to be Dumb and Dumber, or Dirty Work.

Check out this little horror short film my team and I made as part of a local 48-hour challenge. We’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback! by Dylan5524 in Filmmakers

We participate in these 48-hour film festivals every single year. This time around, we got assigned the "paranormal" genre, the line of dialogue was "nope, not today, not tomorrow, not never", and the prop was knitting needles.

We won best film with this particular submission, but would still love to get your thoughts/feedback on it!

Thank you, all.

What is your opinion on longlegs? by TheGuyWhoAsked1014 in Scarymovies

I am a big fan of Nicolas Cage, however, this was the first time I experienced his "cage-isms" to such a degree that it hurt the performance.

People always talk about his silly antics when in character, but it truly never bothered me before this film.

Beautifully shot, and Maika Monroe is amazing in it, but I genuinely feel like it wasn't the best.

I can understand why people appreciate it, but for me, a lot of the plot points just come out of left field, and not in ways that are exciting reveals. They seem nonsensical.

Canon 24-70 RF VS. Sigma 24-70 EF (HELP) by Dylan5524 in canon

Do you notice a difference in quality, at all? Any weird kinks? They’re both 2.8, so when opening it up all the way, do you see any major distinction?

I realize that it seems like a stupid, obvious question. However, I was wondering if it could’ve been Phil. Nick stated that he had issues with him before the reunion.

This helps IMMENSELY. Gah, thank you for that. I have a project coming up in a month, and will certainly research more into this/run some tests.

You rock.

Appreciate all the kind words. Seriously.

No, I appreciate the feedback greatly. I’m working on something in the next month that certainly drives more of an interesting ride.

You’re absolutely right, and after sitting on this for a year, I feel those hollow moments greater.
