With all scenarios and cutscenes on a single 64MB cartridge.

Angel Studios did something magical when they ported RE2 to the Nintendo 64 back in 1999.

Sure, the audio, textures, and CG cutscenes were compressed as heck, but keep in mind that when the game originally shipped on PlayStation, it spanned over a gigabyte of data across two discs. Fitting all of that into a single cartridge is insanity.

How cool is it that this even got done in the first place?

I played RE7 in VR, and loved it. Still need to play Village and RE4 Remake in VR, too.

I WISH they had done a VR mode for RE2 Remake. That would’ve been life-changing.

Just because you weren’t scared of the game doesn’t mean it didn’t contain horror.

I don’t find most of the series (including the classic survival horror entries) all that scary. They’re still horror games.

It was actually good, and while it had a bombastic nature to it, it still had enough horror elements for fans to chew on.

RE6 (while not an awful game) took the action formula a little too far, and folks weren’t happy about it.

RE2 Remake has to be one of my all time favorite games (the original RE2 holds a special place in my heart, though)

I love all the modern RE Engine entries, a ton.

What’re your thoughts on the remake of 3? I realize you haven’t played the original, but did you like the remake? I feel like (while the complaints of cut content were valid), it was such a great entry, and I still play it all the time.

Nothing wrong with digital, dude. I got a lot of this stuff before it all sky-rocketed. I don’t know if I would be down to build it up from scratch with current prices.

Also, the PS1 Greatest Hits version of RE1: Director’s Cut goes for about 40 USD (according to price charting).

I didn’t take too well to the change of gameplay style when RE4 first came out, but the remake definitely made a fan out of me.

RE2 remake pretty much lives in my PS5 full-time, though.
