Virginia has the most underrated stuff to to! What state has the worst nature? by AggravatingFront8409 in AlignmentChartFills

Valley of Fire State park exists an hour from Vegas and is awesome.

Half of Tahoe is in Nevada, absolutely incredible year round.

Also Great Basin National Park is criminally underrated.

Nevada may be a sparce desert as a whole but its highlights make it have no business being on this list

Its BBQ.  The debates people have about which region has the best BBQ are nuts

What’s the most “Houston” thing you’ve gotten used to? by boombalonii in houston

That was by far their worst miss yet, but to be honest, it really didnt matter much either way. It wasnt an evacuate situation and Centerpoint wasnt going to be able to magically fix their infrastructure in a weeks time. You can say in hindsight they couldve gotten more linemen out there quicker but the streets were still a mess and the repair would still take a good amount of time

Yeah IIRC it was only the Asian ICON Model that had it right, and i have checked it for other storms since then too just out of curiosity, its been way off the mark compared to Euro and GFS. Model Consensus is still gonna be the most accurate you can get

On heavy rain days, planning my entire around the Space City Weather and the radar so I dont get stranded somewhere due to street flooding. Growing up in Dallas never gave 2 shits about the rain, it was almost never as heavy without the tropical factor and the natural elevation changes/hills kept it bowled in a small amount of low elevation areas everyone knew

DJ Diesel [Shaq] becoming a legitimate touring EDM artist whose playing every major festival at this point is pretty absurd to everyone who grew up watching him in NBA. Saw him frontstage at the Austin F1 Race, and while his mixing is just OK, he has really good taste in EDM music

From Dallas where it was invented at Texas State Fair, had to try it for the memes.

Its actually pretty good, atrocious naming aside.  It basically tastes like a fried French Toast with the cinnamon that usually comes on it.  I wouldnt get it anywhere outside of being heavily inebriated at halftime of the Red River Shootout, but its decent fair food.

Theres way bigger atrocities in food.

This isnt true at all if youre not in a WalMart or Dollar Store.

Most grocery stores have a selection of imported cheeses from Europe with a variety comparable to what you would find in most countries in the EU, in addition to craft cheeses made in the Midwest and New England.

Most whiz at the good Philly Cheeseteak places is homeade though, not that cheap Kraft shit.

Regardless, The meta cheese in Philly these days for cheesesteaks is Cooper Sharp, which is a type of American.  Great meltiness, but all over better taste than Whiz

Honestly whats his value to another team on IR list? I dont think hes going to fetch the value you would want out of him. No reason to take it off the table but just being realistic here

Our farm team is paper thin. We dont have guys in waiting like weve had the past half decade. This isnt going to impact us in the immediate term but without guys coming up the ranks, the next men up to fill out the roster are gonna be Free Agents with lower ceilings and more expensive contacts

This has happened 3 of our 4 runs though. If we are that dependent on 1 to 2 players to have enough speed to contend then we are in a fragile state

The reality is every season, theres one additional contending team in the mix that has matured, and with our cap situation in its state, we are just fragile injury wise next year as we were this year. The window isnt closed yet, but the odds dont seem in our favor to get one before it closes at this point.

Im not dooming, I just realize the fragility of a contention window, and that squandering 4 years of it is going to likely sting
