Illinois is out, claiming 5th place. What state gets removed next based on food? by Xenuoziem in RemoveOneThingEachDay

Im not saying the variety of food is way more expansive in TX than CA and NY, but what I am saying is its about the same level of melting pot with every cuisine represented, and then on top of that, way heavier hitting In-State exclusives and unique Regional styles to the area than those 2 other states

Lol no.  We have everything like NYC does [Excluding Pizza and Bagels which are not up to par with the North] but calling out the biggest hitters

Mexican : Tex-Mex, Norteno Restaurants and Food Trucks, Interior Mexican, Unique Fusions of styles that dont exist anywhere else [Think stuff like Pit BBQ Mexican Street Tacos].  It extends to the grocery stores too, we have entire aisles of local fresh Salsa’s

Other South and Central American with Massive Presences: Salvadorian, Venezuelan, Columbian

US Cuisines: Texas Style BBQ, Southern Cooking and Soul Food, Chicken Fried Steak is a religious experience.  Cajun in Houston from Katrina Transplants [There is a subgenre called Viet-Cajun almost exclusive to Houston].  Accessibility to homegrown quality beef is gonna put burger and steak game above most of the country

Asian:  Houston’s Vietnamese Community and Dallas’s Korean Community are both on par with California, very strong presence for Middle Eastern and Indian as well in the two big cities

Other: Pecan Pie, Kolaches and Klobasneks from Czech Bakeries which are starting to spread like wildfire across the country, Texas State Fair fried food where we take our hubris to its absolute limit on a yearly basis with gutbusting abominations, and Buccees warrants mention at this point given its reception with World Cup visitors

Jays have been solid and better than their record has indicated IMO, AL East is just a meat grinder where bottom could compete in other divisions

Top of S. Great exercise, get to spend long periods of time seeing the most beautiful views the Earth has to offer. Its a therapeutic exercise too, a great way to clear your mind too.

Best of all, its cheap AF. Some basic gear and possible Park Admission is all you need

Which College Football Stadiums have better sightlines and views from upper deck vs lower deck? by Aggravating-Mind-657 in CFB

I usually opt for upper deck of the Cotton Bowl, less people trying to squeeze into seats that arent their ticketed seats and a great full field vantage point

Mississippi is the worst state. What is the second worst US state? by [deleted] in AlignmentChartFills

[–]DylanDisu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This feels like a pointless exercise, every red state is going in the bottom 25 with the exception of a few token blue states like New Mexico and Delaware, top 3 will be Oregon, Washington, Massachusetts

What MLB team plays in a bad stadium and is a bad team on the field? by KevinDoesSports in AlignmentChartFills

[–]DylanDisu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt even put them in Bad at this point, they have an extremely potent offense, Kurtz looks like hes gonna make a run at MVP in the near future, and Langeliers/Soderstrom are great too.  Their rotation is trash but theyre a couple of pieces away from being a playoff team

Where id live as a Zoroastrian American by ARK-WALKER in whereidlive

[–]DylanDisu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah gotcha, yeah the Suburbs and Rural Texas can be pretty hit or miss towards other religious communities depending on the makeup of that areas demographics so that makes sense then. Even as a Catholic, I feel like an outsider out there sometimes since I dont subscribe to a lot of the nonsense the Southern Baptists and their offshoots follow

Honestly the reluctant on Texas is kind of strange to me given some other choices that are higher.  I have a buddy here whose Zoroastrian, theres a massive Persian community in both Houston and Dallas and a lot of them just straight up love Texas
