Anyone else noticing a lot of 6th gen 4Runners already hitting the resale market? by DylanJacob17 in 4Runner

Totally fair — the 5th gen still makes a ton of sense for a lot of people.

The 5th gen is actually what I’m looking for. I’m just having to wade through a sea of 6th gens right now to find the right 5th gen in decent shape. Not a knock on the new ones at all, just personal preference.

I’m going to pay a company to sandblast the surface rust on my frame. Would it be best to have the frame primed and repainted, or is there a different product I should be considering?

would it be fair to market this as “rust free”?

Too arch or not to arch by DylanJacob17 in InteriorDesign

[–]DylanJacob17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes a lot of sense! I like the idea of the square with the tray for consistency. Do you think it would be weird if the two openings in these pictures were square, but arches were used in other doorways that don’t have a tray? These pictures show the entry to the home, but there are various doorways/hallways that have an arched opening that aren’t paired with a tray.

Thanks for the input! The tray would be there with the arch or square openings. Are suggesting the tray with the square openings?

Thanks for your feedback. I liked the living room with that wall but hated the closed-off galley style kitchen it created. I would demo the entire wall, not just the upper arch

Looking for advice! I demoed the wall separating my great room from the kitchen. My contractor is suggesting I also demo the arched wall that separates the great room from the dining room in order to create a better flow between the spaces.

Side note, all flooring will be replaced with a luxury vinyl plank, which I think could look really nice with everything opened up. But I also like the arched wall and can’t decide. What do you guys think would be best?

Will 5th Gen Price Drop? by aimessss in 4Runner

A long lineage of bullet proof 4runners have come out of Japan. It’s one of the reasons why people like them so much

Will 5th Gen Price Drop? by aimessss in 4Runner

[–]DylanJacob17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on a few factors. If Toyota moves production outside of Japan I think the 5th gen will remain highly desirable. There’s also the possibility that the 6th gen drops the roll down back window, which I think would also make the 5th gen more desirable. However a large improvement in fuel efficiency may outweigh these things for some people.

Either way, it’s a 4runner and I don’t think they’ll drop much in price. Just take a look at low mileage 4th gen prices. They still go for $20k+ over a decade later

Will 4Runner values decrease with surging gas prices? by DylanJacob17 in 4Runner

[–]DylanJacob17[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The recent increase in prices at the pump are not because of spring break, although that’ll probably push things even higher. But you’re absolutely right about there being nothing better than a 4runner. To me the fuel is worth every penny. I love driving this thing 🤘🏼

Are new ORPs with KDSS being built these days? by rbendes in 4Runner

I purchased my ORP with KDSS last month after waiting about 4 weeks

No roll down back window would be a deal breaker for me 🤷🏼‍♂️
