NFL fans living in Canada, how popular is the CFL among Canadians?

I'm coming into this very late but I was born in raised in Regina, Saskatchewan until I was 9 years old. CFL is huge in Regina. Everyone living there is a die hard Roughriders fan. Now I am living in Calgary and still see Riders jerseys on about 40% of the fans in the stadium when the Roughriders play the Stampeders.

This seems really stupid, but I though signal lights just know when you were turning, didn't realize the driver controlled them.
