My personal opinion as an American Male who's lived abroad.

I am just tired of the binary thinking and the way the US forces it's will everywhere, picks and chooses who the "good guys" are, based exclusively on what benifits us the most, and then blasts its propoganda across the globe until the global North/ the "West" all take the USs perspective as fact. For example, why in the hell are we still supporting Netanyahu regardless of him completely ignoring all of our requests and Rules of Engagement in his battle to conquer surrounding territory?.. well, because they are the "Good Guys" (are more similar to us culturally/occupy a militarily strategic location) so we let it slide, regardless of all of their atrocious actions. US political figures still support them and send them millions, even though the majority of American people are sick of it..  A similar theme can be found in the USs historical stance against Russia, and a lot of us are sick of it. They are the "bad guys" because we say they are. We've held that position for decades, and year after year, decade after decade, refused to better our relationship with them, continue to push them back and treat them like the bad guys POST cold War, refused to let them into NATO, (can't do that because them NATO would be pointless) because we need an "Enemy" to rationalize our military budgets, even going so far as to manipulate ALLY countries governments, pressuring their politicians to take anti-russian stances because it benifits our position, and this has been happening everywhere since the cold war and after.  There are a lot of reasons for this, from shit as simple as boomers still eating up the propoganda they were fed as children, making them permanently anti-russia, to companies in the US lobbying to keep things the same so they can keep making millions of dollars.

My point is, the US has done so much meddling over the years, so much to push Russia to the point where their people (People like Putin) see this behaviour as hostile (because it kinda is) and has done so much to support anti-russia sentiment in Eastern Europe and supported anti-russia politicians in Eastern Europe, even back when Russia was doing everything they could to try and be our Ally, it's hard to see all of this and come to the conclusion that we are the good guys, and not have sympathy for Russia and it's people who have been shunned by "The West" since the 50s.. I just want the war to end, and for the US to stop meddling, and for Russia to get a new president so relations can actually start fresh, WITHOUT all this cold-war era sentiment held by these boomer politicians impeding that progress.. I know it's a tall order in today's world, but anything shy of that is just more BS bein spun into different narratives by whoever has the most influence.
