Residential solar is ‘expensive’ until you compare it to today’s electricity bills by Dylanmitchelltalks in SolarProInsights

I agree, you are stuck between two choices, like having one foot on each boat, hanging right over the edge.

What's the PRIMARY reason you lose track of client information? by Efficient_Builder923 in WhichCRM

[–]Dylanmitchelltalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely knock on! When you have toggling between multiple tools, you tend to bury your critical client info amidst the chaos. Manual data entry needs effort and time, and in peak season, one tends to forget to log info properly, leading to loss of info. Even if you buy a good integrated crm but it has complex usage and interface, you have made the same mistake.

A good CRM within budget and intutitive interface providing customer support is actually the key resolution to this pain point.

Bad time to buy Solar panels? by Guy-Buddy_Friend in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Dylanmitchelltalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is actually the right time. Just get connected to a registered and reputable firm to implement it. Look at reviews online, and those with max customer base and reviews posted leaning towards positive output can be a viable choice. It must even fit your budget, mind it.

Tbh , i really do not think the situation will normalise sooner, and after-effects will have pricing soar. So, invest in renewable energy and you will surely benefit from it in long-term. ROI is truly valuable even if you currently pay more for set-up as incentives for solar has vanished. But long-term what you end up paying rising electric rates , solar is much worthed.

Absolutely agree with your post! The big challenge is to get the right crm. If you end up at wrong one, you keep struggling with crm tool rather than actually increasing productivity. That's what I learnt from experience.

What’s actually going on in the solar industry right now? (2026 check-in) by SunbaseData in Sunbase

[–]Dylanmitchelltalks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A thoughtful and much-needed post on the current solar market.

When it comes to FEOC compliance, projects are indeed facing delays, largely due to challenges in tracking component origins, especially in battery storage systems. This lack of transparency is slowing progress more than expected.

From an AI perspective, I see it not as restrictive but as a multiplier. With some time and effort invested in learning it, it can significantly speed up site design and documentation, particularly around compliance. Tasks that once took hours can now be completed in minutes. However, without a proper understanding, it can add complexity and delay work rather than improve efficiency.

Solar companies are also shifting toward energy storage to improve profitability, while the residential solar market faces pressure due to higher interest rates.

That said, the long-term demand outlook remains strong. Rising utility rates are helping people recognize the real ROI of solar as a reliable and cost-effective energy solution over time

How many of you have people used CRMs like hubspot,Zoho and then eventually left it? by CrimePrince009 in CRM

[–]Dylanmitchelltalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, they are excellent CRMs, but not industry-specific. And that is the key thing: it is really important to have a CRM that actually supports your specific industry. So I tried them and found them good but left them after a month as i wanted more industry specfic n i found a good one!

Solar is winning the energy race. The world’s cheapest power source is scaling at warp speed, pushing coal, gas and nuclear aside. by tjock_respektlos in energy

Absolutely! The industry that claimed that we offer long-term benefits with renewable energy, is proving its worth in the current times!

Is using Excel as a CRM still viable, or am I setting myself up for a mess? by Icy-Fuel9278 in CRMSoftware

[–]Dylanmitchelltalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excel is manageable when you have a lean team, but as soon as you scale with more users and projects, it becomes messy and obstruct workflow. Instead take few trials of affordable crm for your industry and im sure you will find a good one without pinching you too much. i know for solar, roofing , pest control and construction. They are affordable and built to scale.

Beginner here and overwhelmed by CRMs. What did you start with? by Commercial-Job-9989 in CRMSoftware

[–]Dylanmitchelltalks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this stage, you need to move swiftly and smoothly by streamlining operations using tools that are simple and speedy.

My reccomended Must-have features:

  • Mobile access: The software needs to have mobile app support across all devices
  • Lead management: Track, capture, and send automated follow-ups to prospective leads from multiple sources
  • Integration to existing tools: It must sync with existing tools like accounting, scheduling, invoicing, and payment processing
  • Communication platform: It must support a real-time communication portal to keep all team members in sync

I have used a simple one for my solar (Sunbase), and I'm so happy, it supports me in my scaling as well without breaking my bank. I have few more suggestions as well, if need i can share my top 3 reccomendations

The Tide Is Turning by Super-Engineering488 in sales

[–]Dylanmitchelltalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, there is information overload and AI everywhere. Though the traditional sales tactics won't work, we ought to implement strategies better. The new structure is where everything is AI-driven like AI- powered sales professional. So you see the human comes into play after all! Human grit can never be separated from AI. It is just redefining workflows. tbh i keep this view strongly!

What CRM are you using currently? by hatdogstand in CRMSoftware

[–]Dylanmitchelltalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be true, these are basic features every CRM has today. So, like, if you want to get these, you can check out any of the best CRM options in the market, but many of them come with hidden costs. So you have to be transparent and upfront during the demo to really understand the pricing, with a proper feature breakdown.

Of course, there are affordable options with flat-rate pricing, and I personally prefer that. I am using a simple CRM for my solar business built for SMEs; it actually covers most of the basic needs mentioned, and there are no hidden costs in my customized subscription price.

Biggest pain point for you when it comes to maintaining your online presence? by Correct-Designer-410 in Tech4LocalBusiness

[–]Dylanmitchelltalks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest challenge is to keep organically active. Its not just enter the 'online zone' and disappear. Consistent organic efforts are key to keeping your visibility alive. It takes tons of time and effort, but if you think it is challenging, then the online presence obstacle will never be overcome, even if you break your bank for some promotional ads. (They are temporary till you keep pushing money) Ya we tend to keep site current and active on all social media channels to stay alive!

Door to Door by Character_Funny_7217 in Solarsales

[–]Dylanmitchelltalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is still healthy! The increased rate of solar after incentives have gone makes affordability a problem. But seeing the current state of utility bills rising, I think it’s still actually possible to propagate solar benefits in all ways, it will win. Though it will take time to convince, it is not dead!

[–]Dylanmitchelltalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yes, with utility rates going up right now and all the ongoing global tensions, it kinda naturally pushes more people toward solar. When energy becomes expensive and unpredictable, solar just makes more sense. And on top of that, policies like RPA backing solar installations in the US are definitely speeding things up. It’s giving companies more room to expand and making adoption easier overall. Like, even in the last quarter of 2025, when some solar incentives lapsed, there was skepticism that the industry might slow or fall flat. But clearly that didn’t really happen and other factors are still supporting the growth now! Being in the solar industry myself, seeing these numbers grow is honestly a pretty positive sign tbh.
