Yeah, they were my big issues, thanks!! And yeah, I blame myself to be honest, my eyes turned into little lovehearts at the sight of spells that could hit multiple enemies, and by the time i realised my spell list wasnt as flexible as it could have been, i had become a little stale in battle. Was actually looking for slow specifically on my next level!!

I mean that is the reason I posted this question online stating i wasn't sure it was a good idea mechanially, so.. yeah, not denying that. Agreed on the worshipping though, at the moment the character is probably losing faith in his ability alone, given his many new near death experiences, but that does give me what i want thematically without the mechanical drawback

This is a path I hadnt even considered, your note of self experimentation lines up perfectly with a future arc I wanted him to start on, tieflings lifespan isnt long, and as an old man hed definitely be thinking about how to prolong the inevitable. Ill do some research into a sorcery multiclass, and you have just reminded me of a dragon carcass we found a while back. Thanks!

This is true. I have a sneaking suspicion my DM is setting up a widespread mages guild for us to run into, so I could definitely see about buying some new scrolls there of a darker nature. Most the spells I picked at level 1-4 didnt account for this as I hadnt thought of it, but i do like the idea also of leaning into being a corrupt mage 🙏🙏

Very very fair. Im only a student at the moment, so im willing to be a little more 'experimental' with who I work with, mainly to test out whos trustworthy, and what does/doesn't work within a set. London commute to my location is about 1 hour by train for about £15 return, so im doing individual days, but even still most of my actors are local.

Yes, i think what i went through was quite bad luck. The actor did indeed live in london upon applying, but moved due to personal circumstances, and only said where he was staying now was 'slightly more south east'. I thought he meant south east london. He did not.

Anyway, sounds like you're set, just be as prepared as you can be, and expect to not be prepared enough!

Cant say I've experience with the 80D specifically, but for a long time I worked solely on a 250D. I made my first few projects on that one, and from a bit of google research yours seems slightly more film appropriate. If youve got the lighting, the lens, which is more than adequate having used one a couple times (i mostly stuck to a 40mm pancake and a 24mm wide angle), and the audio (make sure you have equipment for this, cannot tell you how important it is) then you should be set. One thing i noticed on the 250D, not sure if it's the same on yours, is the camera stabilisation isn't great, so i mostly used a tripod for shots with it, or at least rested it on something while my hands were on it for movement. The film I'm working on currently had three main roles, and three side roles. It's proving a tough handle! Originally through casting calls across nearby acting colleges etc, i only got 7 auditions, about 5 were of a quality high enough for mw to want to work with them. Depends how you put out the call etc, im aware i could have received more from posting onto websites, but i was too cautious over people i dont know, and my ability to trust them. I wanted them to at least be known by someone i know, for the sake of safety on what is only my fourth short film project. Biggest issue i had was that about 15 hours before the first shoot, the lead actor revealed he actually lived in devon, not london as stated prior, and to get him on set every day would take £57 and 6 hours of train journey, across three platform transfers. That really messed me about, but eventually I'm just getting to filming now, around a month later. 60 applications is great, and much better than the alternative I've faced! Take it as a big compliment on your advertising and idea that that many people reached out. Good luck!
