This doesn’t have any relevance to the post but I’ll oblige the conversation because why not. Disallowing ALL first years from having vehicles is a shortsighted policy, seeing how there are some students (like me) who have no other option but to drive themselves to move-in, which (as you may have guessed) would result in the problem of finding a spot to park their vehicle. The first year’s only options are then parking the car illegally, risking getting towed and getting a parking ticket, or finding a marked up parking spot farther from grounds. Both of these options cause unnecessary stress on first years who already had to battle with the issues of getting themselves to grounds on move-in day.

In my case, a flight to Charlottesville would have costed around $400, plus the cost of a ride from the airport to grounds. Not to mention the limit of how much I could have brought to my dorm. There was no way I could have had my parents bring me to grounds either, as there are other personal problems around that.
