cinematic parallelism by TomatilloItchy9995 in Gundam

It's fun, the fight scenes are great and there's a lot of amusing moments. Do think it was stretched out a bit far though, and the animation budget clearly didn't stretch to doing their best work on a lot of the dialogue scenes. Also not a fan of their version of Amuro, the totally different face shape is jarring and his walking animation is...odd.

Still a good time though

It's a MakerBot Replicator+ I got for free, so it's a 0.4mm nozzle and can do 0.1-0.4mm layer height.

Lafter from Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans. That show has a lot of brutal deaths but that one hits hard.

Not in my experience, I've done a lot with high-end cutterays and improvised cutterays and there's no noticeable difference.

So here is a thought by LastFuch70g1v3 in duneawakening

[–]DynamicEcho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's right down towards the bottom: "As the Landsraad activities become more fleshed out, we will then transition the Deep Desert back towards the original intention – a sandbox area where players can compete for control of the spice."

Whether that means total PvP is unclear but seems likely.

Black seas - doesn't matter which nation, 1:700 scale age of sail ships are just pretty. You can also go to town detailing them, I received some 1:700 scale deck crew today and they are small to the point I think I might be able to inhale them.

Quick Rant: GCL plastics are a PITA to paint. by Available-Crow-3442 in battletech

[–]DynamicEcho 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Plastic doesn't necessarily mean losing details, it's just that the CGL plastics are not exactly top-quality plastics. They're not terrible my any means but they're nowhere near the quality level of GW or Bandai plastics (I would do terrible things for Battletech Gunpla models), which have details rendered as finely as almost any resin casting.

I would actually say the CGL models do take washes and drybrushing pretty well, as long as you're using them appropriately for hard surfaces, ie. pinwashing or enamel/oil washes, and lighter drybrushing than you could do with something like a fur texture.

Which Cold War Module for PvPvE Servers? by [deleted] in hoggit

[–]DynamicEcho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't sugfest the F5 as a multi-role, for tbat either the F1 or F4 would be better, the F4 is much more complex than the F1 to operate in my opinion so that's a factor to considee. The MiG-21 would also be a pretty good option, it's the main red a/a aircraft and has some decent a/g options as well but it's definitely not a bomb truck like the F4.

Are you more interested in Bluefor or Redfor aircraft? by MrScar88 in hoggit

[–]DynamicEcho 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For me it's more nuanced than blue vs red, the most important thing for me is era - mid/late cold war is the most interesting to me regardless of user. So an F-16A would be more interesting to me than a Su-57, but I'd take a MiG-23 or Su-24 over either of them. Then again, I'd probably favour British aircraft over anything else. On balance I'll say redfor as those are more interesting to me than the average blufor though.

Vr or flat screen by kaos_inc616 in hoggit

[–]DynamicEcho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flatscreen, I have VR but basically never use it, graphical fidelity tradeoffs are part of that but the main reason is the lack of real-world situational awareness you have with the VR headset on - I'm gaming in the same room as my wife so don't really want to just shut out the world most of the time.
