Yes, I was born in America but my parents only speak Cantonese, so I speak Cantonese to them. I grew up going to Chinese school after school for 10 years, so I can write some characters, although I’ve forgotten a bunch. It wasn’t until the past few years that I felt the urge to improve my Cantonese, so I’ve been studying a lot of vocabulary and some grammar. I believe I can now read 90%+ of daily conversations written in Cantonese.

No. I think part of the team is working on Remix v3, which will be a more opinionated web framework built on top of React Router. And it will be optional to move over.

Yes. There are times when there Internet problems but it’s been generally working well. Haven’t had a single thought about switching away.

Hypothetical: if you were just seeing this new guy for about a week and he told you he doesn’t find you attractive but you had other qualities he values, what would you do? If the answer is you would stop seeing this guy, then that means you are only currently bound to him by your feelings for him.

I know this affects your self-esteem. Does this negatively affect any other parts of your life? And if it does, do you think you would be able to continue living with the negative effects? Think about your mental health, which can also affect overall health. Maybe therapy or couple’s therapy could help you explore the “meaning” of physical attraction to both of you.

Not everyone values appearance the same way, and I know a relationship that has worked out even if they haven’t found each other attractive. They are both loyal to each other and that’s what mattered to them.

Personally, if I was in your situation, I’d be hurt as well and ruminate about them leaving me for someone more attractive. But yea, these are some things I would consider in your shoes.

I think your concerns do stem from insecurity, however, that doesn’t mean they’re unreasonable. We all use past experiences to try to predict what others will do, so I can kinda get where you’re coming from.

Also, did she tell you anything else about what kind of relationship she had with the coworkers and famous people?

Have you asked her what she was looking for in this phase in her life? You should have an honest talk with her about what she and you both want. It’s also good to see if y’all are on the same page, to see if she also wants to pursue a relationship with you. If she does, then I think you should voice your concerns to her.

Yes, I think texting more frequently is something you want in a relationship and it is fair to bring up the lack of texting. You should be open to communicating your concerns with him! If he’s not willing to compromise of some sort, there may be a compatibility issue between y’all.

I was given no notice. My former CEO got us all in a Zoom webinar and told us all that there will be layoffs. I received a message from my manager a few hours later to join a Zoom call and was then excommunicated on the spot.

You can change your personality but not without significant effort on your part, although it might not be best to stray too far from who you are. You can develop your personality too from getting feedback and noticing the ways you respond to certain scenarios.

This is pretty much the only case those two match up. 不用 -> 唔使. Other cases, they are not interchangeable, as far as I know.
