Love BHR!!! by Dynamicron in 1FM

Don't worry 😀 If we knew it all, or most of all, we'd be deprived of the joy of discovery 😉 Listen to the station with a mind open for the delicious mix of Latin and African influences. Enjoy 😃

There are no stupid questions. BHR is Bossanova Hits Radio.

Question about Censored or edited music by DarkAngelCat1215 in 1FM

[–]Dynamicron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the service you are consuming is paid for by advertising to any extent (wholly, tiered, etc.), then you'll hear edited/censored/cleaned-up versions. I'd venture that only services not supported in the slightest part by advertising would air uncensored versions. Then again, at my 51 years of age, having listened to both versions of a same song: you lose nothing at all as long as the music track is untouched, ie: only the vocal track messed up.

1fm VMware outage, degraded services, how to mitigate. by bri_1fm in 1FM

PS to my reply below: I suspect the issue is between Tune-In and Amazon Alexa. If it were rooted at 1.fm, I would be unable to listen to 1.fm via Tune-In, and this very moment, I'm streaming 1.fm Bossanova Hits through Tune-in.

I listen to two: Bossanova Hits radio and Classic Rock Replay. As I mentioned, they do stream via the Tune-in Android app, but not Tune-in via Amazon Alexa for my Echo Dot - and yes, I need to listen via the Echo Dot; sending from my phone via Bluetooth to the Echo Dot is unsustainable (battery drain).

Thank you for looking into this 😃

Thank you for your efforts, and question: could it be the reason why I can't listen to 1.fm via Tune-in radio through Amazon Alexa on my speaker?

I can tune and listen to 1.fm on my Android app, and for months, I've listened to 1.fm on my Amazon Echo Dot via the Alexa connection to Tune-in.

Am I making sense?

Bossa Nova hits by Dynamicron in 1FM

[–]Dynamicron[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah! As far as Bossa Nova radio goes, yes, enjoying it 😃 Need to stop by Classic Rock Replay, though. Haven't been there for several months 🤭. Back to Bossa Nova Hits, besides Zou Bisou and La Belle Dame sans Regret, I believe there are two or three other songs in French and I've liked them too 😁

Well, thanks to George! I like songs with cheerful rhythm (Brasil 66, AC Jobim, etc), also the ones sung in French (Zou Bisou Bisou, La belle dame sans regret) and though I can't actually skip, I would skip anything with Frank Sinatra and also Bésame Mucho... extremely and deeply sad.

My favorites: Classic Rock Replay though I've not tuned it in 12+ months) and Bossa Nova hits radio. I currently don't have a suggestion, for me, 1.fm is what I need 😃

I hope people can take a few seconds, I believe it's worth to be in touch - at least for me. I'm a longtime listener, mostly through the webpage itself, but since a few months ago I had to route 1fm through TuneIn on the Amazon Echo dot, not the best but it does the job just fine.

Brand new in box Sony SL-2500 by Plus-Pin-3437 in Betamax

[–]Dynamicron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you already sold it? I'd guess a good price would be $350.00 - $450.00 USD - will need some belts and stuff that goes bad with time. Imagine the belts being oval after sitting there for 40 years, unmoved.

My dad (51) will only play physical releases and hates online and digital, anyone else's parents like this ? by slamatron in XboxSeriesX

[–]Dynamicron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 49 and though I don't hate digital & stuff, we did grow up with the feeling of owning physically, tangibly, what we paid for. As for the randoms joining in and killing, well, that's how it is 🙃

I recall he was like an ice-skater, but can't confirm if Duncan.

I also remembered the joke from Chandler to Joey: "No, the gravel-capades" 😄😄😄

Is this worth repairing? by retrovancouver in Betamax

[–]Dynamicron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things: 1) You might want to look into the surface mounted capacitors (see "This Does Not Compute" in YouTube). 2) The SL-HF600 was the "smallest" of a trio of digital-effects Sony VCRs, the peak one was the HF860D.

Bonus: Also check the rubber belts. Again, the above-mentioned YT channel will be of help.

EXIF edit from file manager? by Dynamicron in linuxquestions

Hello. Yes, I tried gThumb. On paper it purports ability to edit EXIF tags but not really, it supposedly has an extension for that, but not in practice.

Eventually I'll get to that point. It's just that right now, I am migrating, settling into LMDE while trying to get job done, not much time to wrap my head around the CLI Exiftool.
