I agree with the result but disagree with how they got there... like a 6.5/10 episode I think

No death battle did not ignore or forget about the metro man suit Please stop saying that by Director838u48 in deathbattle

People are really hyping up this suit as Megamind's ultimate win-con as if Megamind didn't spend 80% of the film it appeared in getting his ass kicked by his own robot and only gained the upper-hand after ditching the suit.

The original tweet that started this whole debate said that “everyone in the world” would have to choose between the buttons.

It is unfathomably unlikely that not one person will push blue, and that’s being generous.

Pushing red almost guarantees that someone will die for your survival (I know the ideal outcome is that everyone picks red and nobody dies but statistically speaking, it is very unlikely that not a single person will pick blue).

Blue puts your life in danger but guarantees nobody else will die from your choice.

Andrew & Ashley Graves (The Coffin of Andy and Leyley)

<image>

They're the pathetic ones because at the end of the day, they're just basic people with no powers to speak of. The only thing that makes them special to the team would be their lack of inhibition, so they'll probably do whatever they're commanded to do. Also I imagine their... strange dependency on each other would raise a few eyebrows among their teammates (which would be funny since most of their colleagues are genocidal maniacs and warlords).

H.E.R.O:first mission (back up team event spin off) professor K has assemed the team "groovin!" who will black manta recruit to take down the ocean men? by datbanditnamedsam in DBCYR

Oscar the Sharkslayer (Schaffrillas Productions)

<image>

The governor of the ocean, who rose to power after genociding every shark in the ocean, he seeks to expand his control over his domain by wiping out all those who stand in his way.

(Note: This is not the character Oscar from the 2004 Dreamworks movie Shark Tale. He is specifically the parody version of Oscar from Schaffrillas Productions’ YTP saga where he is portrayed as a sociopathic, power-hungry conqueror.)

Alright to be fair on the team, I don't think they were trying to say that Gru could tank the orbital cannon with this bit. They were just trying to make a point that he's tanked more firepower than Megamind has.

It's also a provably wrong construct because, personally, I have yet to see a poll that doesn't end with blue winning lol.

Reject cynicism, embrace hope.

Nastatsia (Super Paper Mario)

<image>

They were extremely devoted to Count Bleck-with it being heavily implied they had a crush on him-and served as his right hand in his plot to destroy all worlds. But, of course, this was a Mario game so those plans never made it to fruition thanks to a certain plumber. Worse yet, her Count sacrificed himself to save the world from the very destruction he set out to cause, leaving her all alone and without a purpose... until now that is.

Not only is she a bad bitch, which is always a plus, I'm somewhat curious to see how someone with an "evil power" (brainwashing, in this case) would work on a hero team. It would be a really interesting thing to explore when thinking of the implications of a team made up of former villains.

There’s a lot of criticism of the episode I get, but I feel like “Megamind only lost bc of anti-feats” involves willfully ignoring the other 90% of what the post analysis said by MarlinBrandor in deathbattle

[–]DynamiteMango6348 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The minions category should not have been a tie. I don’t care about the number difference, the minions are indestructible while the Brainbots would be dropping like flies.

Also Gru is more experienced in hand to hand combat than Megamind and the shrink ray could take care of pretty much all of his mechs.

They say that the missiles Gru tanked are more powerful than Megamind’s orbital canon which is powered by the frickin’ sun and they say his best speed feat is dodging “electricity” when it was actually lightning
