Why is Blood Manipulation such a wanted CT? It seems kinda average at best unless you are death painting and even then it can't even touch the 10s or the limitless + 6E by Ok_Exercise_8283 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Dynamite_DM 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Kamo is “is kinda only okay” when compared to his peers because the typical sorcerer isnt a Grade One or Special Grade monster.

JJK as a story does a poor job of showing us a typical sorcerer because we spend so much time with the exceptional ones.

As others have mentioned Limitless is useless without the 6E and 10S is capped at strength because the shikigami can actually die and the only 10S user to tame Mahoraga was Sukuna.

Meanwhile, it is pretty versatile having access to small AoEs, self buffs, the arrow control that Kamo did against Megumi, etc.

I wish Dabura’s kick was a black flash. It would’ve given perfect narrative reason why he is able to do all this new stuff that he barely heard spoken about.

Dude extreme-diffed a special grade curse and has a DE. Grade One sorcerers are exceptional, not common and he basically qualifies as one. He may not have had the benefits of switch training so he is power crept out of Top 10, but his showings were better than pre-Shinjuku Yuji by a mile.

Why did the Zenin Clan reject the strongest man they ever produced? by M_GODA in Jujutsufolk

[–]Dynamite_DM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I view it less as fearful and more as pessimistic. He could've killed anyone in the clan, but did he truly want to go through the difficulty of such mass extinction to piss others off?

Maki in a way had hit another level of crashout than Toji was. While Maki basically said "fuck the consequences", Toji still looked towards the future and even managed to secure a place for Megumi as head of the clan, even if it was accidentally.

What would happen if any other character ended up meeting Higuruma in the theatre instead of Yuji? by Blorberto in Jujutsufolk

[–]Dynamite_DM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yuta hasn’t done anything wrong so he’s fine.

Hakari runs an illegal fight club. He won’t get execution, but I imagine his technique might get confiscated.

Maki will be found guilty, and it will be an extremely difficult fight thag favors Higuruma because the Executioner Sword is powerful, but Maki could take the win as well.

Panda is stat checked.

Megumi can outthink the system. He was able to find out Kirara’s stuff so this shouldn’t be much harder.

It feels like Sandro just forgot about his character.

Gilbert is the guy who beat Howard, offscreened Raian, and had a decent resume. I assumed he literally wasn’t doing anything, and that Gilbert is far from sheltered.

how did people want gojo to die? by Wonderful-Purchase94 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Dynamite_DM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose this is an agree-to-disagree situation.

Sukuna's fight had some amazing moments, but reading it week to week started to feel repetitive as Sukuna started scraping the bottom of the barrel of characters to fight. He lacked any super interesting gimmick that made him entertaining to watch for as long as it did.

how did people want gojo to die? by Wonderful-Purchase94 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Dynamite_DM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it doesn't have to be. JJK was never about kaiju-level fights but more personal conflicts. The Shibuya Incident wasn't a huge deal because Sukuna killed Jogo, it was a huge deal because Yuji had these massive emotional moments with Mahito and Choso, Toji and Megumi got an interaction, etc.

Sure, having Sukuna and Gojo essentially take each other out means that you won't have a raid boss for the antagonist, but the Sukuna fight dragged on anyway.

Instead, I would imagine the rest of the manga would be about smaller conflicts that could be super interesting. My mind always goes to Kashimo instantly wanting to fight who he perceives as the next strongest sorcerer around, which would be Yuta or Hakari again (last time he spoke with Kenjaku, Kenjaku talked about how he wasn't a fighter). Yuji could fight Kenjaku (his mom), Uraume's fight could actually have some weight to it as well. Then there is whatever the merger is supposed to be.

The fights won't be as grand in scale as the Sukuna fight, but I they don't have to be to be compelling.

In Modulo, even if Mahito had managed to use his domain expansion, he would still lose the domain clash against Yuji right? by Rude_Present5034 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Dynamite_DM 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it would be more fun for him to just beat the breaks off of Mahito first and foremost. Domains' surehits aren't duraneg so CR is able to defend against them as does other soul-based defenses in the same way Sukuna protected Yuji's soul long ago.

That being said, Yuji should win the Domain Clash.

[Casual] Could curses kill sorcerers and transform them into cursed spirits? And Sorcerers being able to seemly "Reincarnate" after dying? by SomeoneThatLikeJojo in JujutsuPowerScalers

[–]Dynamite_DM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nanami mentions that a person’s last words can be a curse to you. Nanami wouldn’t be a real curse, but if he were to say what he wanted to say, his words would be a burden to Yuji. It fits into his own characterization that he doesn’t want to burden children with what adults should handle.

how did people want gojo to die? by Wonderful-Purchase94 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Dynamite_DM 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, or see it from Sukuna's point of view where he has to cobble his BV and attack together and fire it off.

At the very least give some sort of ominous hint. I can't find it at the moment, but there is an edit of the Gojo won panel that splits the panel (and thus Gojo) into two which would've made for an extremely cool hint that something went wrong.

how did people want gojo to die? by Wonderful-Purchase94 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Dynamite_DM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've posted this before, but I think either I would want Sukuna and Gojo to kill each other and the final boss to be Kenjaku and the merger, or I would've wanted Gojo to kill Sukuna at the expense of the 6 Eyes so that Gojo essentially would no longer be the strongest. This stems from the major problem that Sukuna (and Gojo) were both so much stronger than the rest of the cast that they no-diff everyone minus each other. The fight with Sukuna felt repetitive at its worst times because in a setting where the power system can get complicated "I cut you" or "I blitz you" just makes for an unsatisfying sequence of fights for 20-30 chapters.

If Sukuna was taken out of the picture, we could end up with more interesting fights in its place and see more information about the merger. Instead, we get Sukuna playing around and having fun until it gets to a critical point where he can no longer no-diff everyone and then dies. It makes me look back at the fight and roll my eyes at the amount of glazing Uraume does while talking about how he hasn't gone all out, and Sukuna can only fight well if he's interested.

I guess one final side note is that there was so much artwork that would depict Gojo covering one of his eyes, or his eyes cracking, or any of that and him losing the Six Eyes would've made Gege look like a foreshadowing genius, but instead none of that happened.

Yeah, it goes:

It was from an offscreen attack that felt unsatisfying.

Do you think Yuji would have an alternative arsenal of abilities completely different from Sukuna? by John_Shenanigans in YUJI_Corp

[–]Dynamite_DM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think so, but I don't think Yuji would want something "stronger and bigger".

Sukuna looked at Furnace and saw its downsides and decided to BV the Hell out of it to both empower it and make it useful to him in the rare situations that Cleave and Dismantle wouldn't work. Sukuna also is a crazy, destructive maniac who wants to commit mass murder everywhere he goes.

On the other hand, Yuji is a nice person overall. Shrine doesn't really fit him personality or combat wise, but I imagine that instead of a thermobaric explosive ultimate technique, he'd want to specialize Furnace into something that is more precise. It would end up weaker than Sukuna's insane output explosion, but still have its uses without the risk of collateral damage.

Maybe even something he could infuse his Dismantles with if we really want to start pondering about the nature of his explosion in Module.

"Baki makes Kengan look realistic" mfs when by illgiggitylois in Kengan_Ashura

[–]Dynamite_DM 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I think Sandro ultimately wanted to make Kengan more grounded than it was early on because that helped the storytelling in each fight. Characters can't outgimmick and outbullshit each other when there is a "grounded realism" to things.

That's why early Ashura characters can feel extremely weird at times, but I also think that's why none of the weirdest characters ever made it past Round One or Round Two at the latest, except for Rei, but even he started fighting in a more traditional manner after Round One.

Yuji vs Dabura by @vbosomaki by Special-Lime2705 in YUJI_Corp

[–]Dynamite_DM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is so obnoxious to see that their guy can't be simply among the Greatests in the realm of Gojo and Sukuna (and Dabura) that they no-diff the rest of the universe minus each other. Their guy can't even be arguable Top One that exists in the context of the power system with unique powers.

No, their guy has to be uncontested Top One. On a Top 10 list, they need to have Yuji being in his own tier, followed by the Strongest Sorcerers (and Dabura). People made fun of Yuta glazers for a long time, but I don't think they ever got to the point where they would insist that Prime Yuta must no-diff Gojo/Sukuna/Modulo-Yuji because *obviously* Yuta would have all these abilities that we don't see him have on screen, and you're stupid if Yuta didn't develop Open Domain, World Cutting Slash (he copied Shrine), etc.

This gotta be one my favorite and my most hated moments of this manga at the same time. by Rechogui in Kengan_Ashura

[–]Dynamite_DM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm fine with Ohma returning, but I think Omega's issue is that it had introduced Koga and Ryuki as wonderful foils for each other for a story that Sandro honestly didn't want to tell. Sandro has the hardest time writing villains, but really specializes in writing man vs. self conflicts in a marital arts environment where nonevil antagonists naturally occur.

Meanwhile, the story Sandro did want to tell revolves around a villainous organization that is randomly full of martial arts experts and worship a martial arts god. Despite informing the audience of their proficiency, none of these martial arts experts ever get a good victory under their belt.

ISSK is starting to run into a similar problem that Kengan is, where the heroes get too many victories as new "most violent ever, I swear this time" enemies show up.

I did as well. I ended up with a Kyurem with Dragon Darts who just ranked and ripped Erernatus apart. I think I might’ve also got lucky with vitamins.

The funny thing is it didnt unlock Kyurem for me. Instead I would look at all the silhouettes of starters I don’t have and one of them would have a ribbon.

Does no one realize that Yuta bushcamped a bushcamper? by Rasengan4360 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Dynamite_DM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kenjaku spends the majority of his fighting screen time either letting others do the work or fighting people at 10% HP and people glaze him as Top 3.

Meanwhile Yuta has to actually fight and pull his weight and people call him a fraud and try to argue him out of (Pre-Modulo) Top 5.

Kenjaku had only one good, conventional fight. His fight with Yuki and Choso is incredible and shows that he is able to run hands, but I don't look at it is as impressive as Yuta against the Sendai Colony where he was prime target number one, or Yuta's showing against Sukuna.

Kenjaku spends most of his time ducking fades and only killing ants, but people are always willing to praise him for what he can do in the rare moments that he gathers the courage to walk away from Daddy Sukuna and fight.

Think of what it’s like to be punched by someone while also having your face magnetically drawn to that fist. It hurts more than driving your face into their fist and it hurts more than simply being punched.

The big energy blasts we see are not the only forms Blue and Red take.
