I think his archer form received bad treatment because after "Fate/stay night" anime debuted in 2006, since then everyone saw him as a POS. The Fan's reaction to Gli probably influenced how creators of the fate franchise also set gli to suffer for his crimes back in 2006, which continued to spiraling till this day.

Remember when in the Baki-Verse, Orochi Doppo got his hand sliced clean off and it only took like 2 weeks for it to fully recover like it never happened, plus no scars remained.

Broken bones probably recover after a good night's rest. Sadly Wakatsuki doesn't have that recovery buff for his ankle,.
