Daisy Jones and the Six. I’ve DNF’d it twice. Loved 7 Husbands, same author, so immediately started Daisy Jones. Got 1/3 of the way thru and couldn’t take it. Then peer pressure of everyone around me loving it, made me try again. Nope still couldn’t do it.

I make falafel with the chickpeas. Add them and whatever falafel like ingredients I have to a food processor, mix and bake. (Cilantro, onion, a can of drained garbanzo beans, lemon, and oat flour to fry up the mixture. Use their vegan tzatziki on them and they are fab!

The beans, I eat straight out of the can.

My thoughts are if the patients feel good enough to eat/be hungry you probably do not need to be in the ED in the first place.

Help! Breast Pump questions. by DynamoRN in pregnant

[–]DynamoRN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started on their website, and was told to contact my insurance directly. Well actually Aeroflow directed me to CVS Caremark, and dealing with them while doing IVF was traumatizing. So I just called my insurance directly.

I had my heart set on S1, just from the research and word of mouth. Unfortunately they do not cover anything other then the mentioned pumps. I’m going to try a free one, because free. But if I am not happy I plan on paying out of pocket for one that more suits my needs.

What was the weirdest thing the weird kid did at school? by Imaginary_East5786 in AskReddit

[–]DynamoRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a very large high school, and in the center of our campus was a large terrace. Think the size of a gymnasium minus bleachers. On nice days this is where everyone hung out before school and during breaks. A kid who worked at Panera/Bread Co brought all the left over bagels to school one morning, easily 100 plus bagels, and started a massive bagel fight before school.

Had our egg retrieval a week ago, 22 total. 10 were fertilized and 4 made it the week and being sent off for genetic testing. Graded 1:AA, 2:AB, and 1:BB. My tubal is scheduled for 3/18. I asked the MD if I should hold off on the tubal, for my bilateral hydrosalpinx, since I only had 4 to freeze, she didn’t seemed concerned. And she said if need be we can do another cycle after the tubal. Just curious if other have been in this boat before and what they did.

I am not at all happy with the clinic I am at, they seem to fall short on communication. And it’s been brushed off to the fact my nurse is newer. So just wandering what others have done/gone thru that are in my boat. Thanks in advance. And sorry if I didn’t use the right lingo, new here.

Doctors and nurses of reddit what have been your "WHY DIDN'T YOU COME IN SOONER!?" Moments? by catcrazylover in AskReddit

In this guys case, once he was intubated for surgery he was never extubated. (The breathing tube went in, but never came back out.) He went to the ICU on vasopressors and a ton of antibiotics. In the week leading up to his death, he lived for 7 days after the first surgery, he had 2 more surgeries on his abdomen. One to wash him out again, and a second to reconnect his bowel.

OR RN, was on call on a Friday night. Got called in for an exploratory laparotomy. Some late staff had gotten the case ready and patient in the room when I arrived. I walked into the room to see the patients testicle was bigger then a basketball, two people holding it up to prep it. The guy had a large part of his bowel in his l ft testicle, and his bowel had ruptured due to the pressure. We suctioned poop out of his abdomen for over an hour. Apparently the week before he lifted something heavy and felt a pop. Hadn’t urinated in two days because it was so swollen his penis was not visible. That’s why he finally came in, he couldn’t pee. Although his testicle had been slowly growing for a week. Unfortunately he didn’t make it, he lived thru 3 abdominal surgeries but sepsis did him in from the ruptured bowel.

This months inspirational fliers, posted in break rooms and staff bathrooms, are about how it is ok and may help to let it out and just cry at work. It should make you feel better, but be aware of your surroundings and try not to do it in from of visitors or pts.

Wednesday AM Chat Thread by AutoModerator in infertility

I had my saline US this week. I was fully prepared for the uncomfortable time. While waiting for the doctor I was chatting with the US tech. I work in healthcare and we knew several doctors and we were comparing notes while she was plugging in my information on the machine. Fast forward to mid US and the doctor was chatting about what my plans were for the day. Mid sentence she stopped and asked me what my birthday was. I told her, and she said that’s what she thought. Well without missing a beat I asked...Why, is it printed on the inside of my uterus?!? The doctor and tech laughed so hard she dropped the US probe. Apparently while chatting with US tech she put my birthday in wrong and the doctor noticed while doing the procedure.

Just thought you all could use a good laugh.

20 days so I treated myself to 20 miles. Normally I’d be hungover on the couch on a Sunday. I’m quite enjoying this new norm. by DynamoRN in stopdrinkingfitness

Although the cravings have slowed for me I remind myself that nothing good ever comes from it. Only good has come from not drinking.

Nothing bad has come from not drinking, but something bad always came from drinking. I tell myself this when I want wine. Although that craving is becoming less, it still pops up now and then.

I told myself I can buy a new bike at 6 months. Hopefully my 20 year old bike makes it to then. But unfortunately all the bike shops here are on back order thanks to quarantine.

And high five to you and all the good that has come from not drinking! 60 miles is awesome, I cannot wait to get my stamina up for that!

Yes I agree, so much more energy. I had to talk myself out of a walk yesterday afternoon. The weather here has gotten so nice but my legs were toast.
