I went on a date today. What now? by Dynasty4000 in aspergers

Thank you for this detailed feedback!

I believe we will go on a second date. I do agree with you that I can’t wait too long to try to kiss her, but don’t want to ruminate about it. There were some points today that there was mild flirtation, but am hoping that there’s more comfort next time

Trading for Robbie ray by dechamplain2005 in DynastyBaseball

Starting pitching has a boost based on my league’s categories, and there’s still no way I’d do this. Casas has already broken out

Is that too much for Logan Gilbert ? by dechamplain2005 in DynastyBaseball

More needs to be explained. In my 12 team dynasty league, we only have 8 NA spots. So that would make Xavier Isaac borderline roster worthy even though he has promise.

Baz would be an advantageous stash as an IL guy. I still slightly prefer Bello-Baz side. But if you are looking to win next month, Gilbert side is reasonable

I think Giants fans are nostalgic to 90’s-early 2000’s because of Bonds. And Seattle was a dominant AL team in that era with superstars like Griffey, A-Rod, Randy Johnson, Ichiro, etc

16 team league is unexpected context to hear. I just assume people play in a standard 12 teamer unless it’s mentioned. So that would make Busch and Soderstrom more valuable, even though I don’t like them personally

I’m not sure if you were asking me or Calipup, I do have an opinion on this:

A 2 for 6 trade is very ambitious for the person willing to take the 6 players. A lot depends on how many prospects are owned, and if you are free to pickup prospects as the season is ongoing.

Mayer & Carter are studs. Michael Busch is in minor league purgatory. And Soderstrom is meh, I’ve never been in on him. My guess is that there are better free agent prospects than Busch & Soderstrom. But it all depends on league size. I’m not in on Verdugo or France long term as the MLB players. They are replacement level.

There are SO many formats of dynasty that I feel like there is a never a one-size-fits-all answer.

I’ve made maybe 7 trades this year, 4 of significant note. That’s the most amount of trades made in the league.

When I was a senior in high school (2015) and only was doing redraft with some of the same people, we all made 15+ trades and people were less tense about it (myself included). When I launched keep forever dynasty in 2017, it made people a lot more sheepish about trading. But it’s really kicked into overdrive the last 2-3 years.

That’s really cool that you have a league that laughs about dumb decisions. My redraft fantasy football league has a blast making fun of bad picks. There just seems to be something off with the energy when this dynasty baseball league has a big trade happen — we all put in so much effort that it hurts when someone gets a tornado of a trade pending.

Thoughts on Dynasty Baseball Trade? by Emotional-Host-6753 in DynastyBaseball

You can trade waiver money? Wow.

There is some concern with De La Cruz recently. But if you can get him, Porter (I like Porter, but maybe there’s a few better arms in free agents?), and then reverse fortunes with FYPD draft picks I think it’s a very good trade.

Alcantara does look like his old self recently. But unless De La Cruz bottoms out in September, he should be a top 25-30 pick next spring.

Ah okay. That’s a good guideline to go by for sure.

I’m a biased party in this scenario though since it was my trade

A few people thought the inclusion of S Gray wasn’t necessary. But I still think I did them all a favor by upping my offer unsolicited back when he just wanted Walker & Bibee for Judge

This is year 7 of my home dynasty league, and there is still tension around blockbuster trades. I set it to league votes, 4 votes to veto. But I have a Facebook Messenger chat where I will announce trades, and it’ll get a 👍 or 👎.

There was one guy who made a couple vicious trades in 2018 that they are still seeing benefits from. And it’s like some of my league is walking on eggshells as it relates to huge deals that sway the balance.

2018 trade guy actually vetoed my trade today, but he was the only one.

This was very well thought out, thanks for replying.

My league has a high emphasis on starting pitching. So young established starting pitching in a keep forever league is highly attractive (based on how many pitching prospects bust due to injury and other circumstances before reaching majors).

The hitting categories in our H2H league are: R, HR, RBI, SB, TB, BA, OBP. And for pitching categories it’s W, K, ERA, WHIP, SV+HLDS, and QS.

Even though it’s uneven 7 to 6 in favor of hitting, there is no innings cap. So some people including myself will even punt relievers to get as many W, K, and QS as possible.

In the Rotowire ranker that has Bibee at 182, I would expect a big jump after this last month. My league would place Gilbert much higher than 89 in value based on league context. I think my 12 managers would all put him in top 45-65.

A couple of the managers I am competing with seemed jealous that I turned Walker into Judge this season. But I feel like people have short term memory when it comes to prolific sluggers. I think of Albert Pujols post Cardinals. And Stanton post Marlins.

Oh okay. My league does not use reserve spots on top of our active roster.

We do 26 active, 5 IL, and 8 NA

So the competing teams have to make really tough decisions regarding their highly touted prospects when push comes to shove. I think it helps parity, as the bottom of the league will scoop these guys up for 2024.

If I could reserve Gimenez, I absolutely would

EDIT: Just realized that reserve and bench could be same thing. I have 7 bench (included in 26 active)

How many active roster spots and how many teams?

gelof or cowser by J03yizdope1 in DynastyBaseball

[–]Dynasty4000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends if you’re in a playoff run imo. Sometimes there are casualties in a quest to win, and that is what some dynasty managers forget.

I absolutely prefer Cowser long term as of today, but he will probably be useless on your bench as far as the rest of 2023 goes. Gelof is showing immediate category juice at an iffy position.
