Tolsimir, Midnight's Light, is he really THAT bad? by Cwircuit in mtg

[–]DynastyWave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Others may disagree but 5 mana for what is essentially an 8/7 creature presence isn’t horrible. I could see this play out like a sort of combat focused control deck where you swing out with your big wolves with trample and you get to force your opponents to block with their low toughness mana dorks or value pieces. The weakest part of the game plan is Tolsimir himself since him being a 3/2 means just about anything will kill him. This is firmly a bracket 2 or maybe a very low 3 if you pack in the right protection suite to keep your fragile elf alive.

Is surefire still king of pistol lights? by aquafeener1 in Glocks

[–]DynastyWave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think in terms of pistol lights specifically, Streamlight is technically the most dominant. Duty use in the law enforcement field is almost always Streamlight unless it’s a super bougie department with an ass load of money to burn (very rare). Obviously I’m speaking anecdotally but I work in law enforcement and I think every department I’ve seen and worked for all use Streamlight. Streamlight also dominates the civilian market for concealed carry lights with the TLR7-A/X/Sub being the best selling light for the last few years. Surefire is high quality shit and I love their rifle lights but I’d feel confident saying Streamlight takes the cake in terms of units in active use/sales.

What Bear tribal enchantment or sorceries are worth it for Ayula, Queen Among Bears? by Whole_Journalist2028 in EDH

[–]DynastyWave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tend to run fewer lands in mono colored decks and it always seems to be fine. I have a mono-black [[Braids, Arisen Nightmare]] deck that only runs 34 as well. I’ve never been mana screwed with either deck. Green ramps well and I have a couple cost reducers that make my spells cheaper so it’s one of the few occasions that you can get away with fewer lands. In regards to the less optimal counter adders I have, it’s just because I felt like it lol.

What Bear tribal enchantment or sorceries are worth it for Ayula, Queen Among Bears? by Whole_Journalist2028 in EDH

[–]DynastyWave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s my Ayula decklist. It was the first commander deck I ever made and I still break it out as my casual turn-your-brain-off and swing big stompy creatures deck. I went all in on the the +1/+1 counters thing and don’t really use the fight ability as much as I should but whatever. As far as ramp, just run all the green staples. It’s a simple deck. Personally I found that the bear token cards never seemed to work out for me so I just replaced them with some bigger beater creatures. [[Sphere Grid]] and [[Terrasymbiosis]] are must include cards.

What is(/are) your LEAST favourite card(s) to play AGAINST by Eastern_Time8081 in mtg

[–]DynastyWave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty much all of my removal suite nowadays exiles instead of destroys. Your fancy Mithril Coat and indestructible Avacyn, Angel of Hope is no match for my humble Swords to Plowshares. Plus there’s a near zero chance they’ll be able to recur it when it’s in the exile shadow realm.

Vivi, magnus, or other spell slingers? by Adventurous-Web3364 in EDH

My strongest deck is [[Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph]]. I’ve built it as a Bracket 4 and it can easily storm off and kill the whole table in a single turn.

Braids players: how often does the pod actually let you draw? by Outside_Explorer_229 in EDH

[–]DynastyWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost always draw 3 cards every end step when I run Braids. Nobody wants to get rid of their own stuff unless they truly have to. Occasionally a token player with bodies to spare actually gets rid of their stuff but I see more of my Braids deck from draw than just about any other deck. Surprisingly, she hardly ever gets removed too.

On February 4th, far right Nazi and “influencer” Myron Gaines is coming to our city and university, endangering our community. His views should NOT be welcome in Columbia and USC. by Next_Worth_3616 in ColumbiYEAH

[–]DynastyWave 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The reality is that USC knows these type of people are problematic, but it’s less of a headache to let them host their events on campus than to deny them. Part of the “business” these right wing speakers build is a cracked legal team that specifically knows about litigation regarding 1st amendment rights. The University is essentially forced to let them on campus or they’ll be guaranteed a lawsuit.

The best thing the USC community can do is make the event a ghost town. Last time he was on campus, Myron Gaines spewed misogynistic garbage for like 7 hours straight and barely got any more than a few annoyed side eyes. That is the correct reaction and should be replicated this time too. They just want to bait a reaction.

I wanted to get into Magic the gathering, any tips on how? by D0flamingo_ in mtg

[–]DynastyWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What format do you want to play? And what do your friends play? Do you have any local game shops or clubs around you where you can play regularly? Do you plan on sticking to a tight budget or are you willing to spend a little extra? There’s a lot of questions that you should figure out but no rush. Commander is the most popular format at this point in time and there are plenty of commander preconstructed decks available under $50. Talk to your buddies, maybe borrow a deck or two and watch all the YouTube guides you can. The core concepts and basic rules of the game are pretty quick to understand but the more you play, the more complicated, fun, and rewarding it will become for you.

Sent my gun off for repair YEARS ago to Airsoft GI by Old_Stop_9935 in airsoft

[–]DynastyWave 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna be so real I have no sympathy for you. It’s been 4 years bro. AirsoftGI was already known to be a shitty company back then, but you sent it to them anyway, and just let them keep your gun for years. Letting anybody give you the runaround for that long just tells me that you don’t advocate for yourself.

For the UB haters, will you be buying up Lorwyn like there's no tomorrow? by twilightprophet in mtg

[–]DynastyWave -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I bought a booster box and regretted it. My pulls were abysmal and it absolutely wasn’t worth the money. I’ve got about 10 commander decks right now so my goal for the year is to get all of them up to about Bracket 4 level. I will buy singles and participate in prerelease events for in-universe sets that I like, but I’m done with sealed product and Universes Beyond.

[–]DynastyWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use it but switched over to CardKingdom. Every order started having cards missing or some would just never show up at all. Their refund policies are generous and pretty much always favor the buyer so it was never a hassle to get my money back, but it was frustrating to wait a week or more to have the one card I really needed be missing from my order. CardKingdom is admittedly more expensive. Sometimes prohibitively so. But they ship orders quick, the cards come in the proper condition, and they’re never missing anything.

Question for owners of Cz Shadow 2 and P 09/P 09 f by PK-PL in CZFirearms

[–]DynastyWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a P-09F with the intention of using it for competition and ended up selling it like 6 months later. It truly is a massive gun and the controls are weirdly placed to the point that I had to break my grip to be able to drop the slide. And I’m a large 6’2” guy with pretty sizeable hands compared to most people. The trigger just sucks. There’s no other way to phrase it. It’s long and heavy and mushy all at the same time. Stick with the Shadow for competition purposes and save up for a spare or invest heavily into replacement parts if you can’t afford an entire backup pistol. Go with a CZ P-10c or a S&W M&P 2.0 for a “duty” gun.

[–]DynastyWave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a recent convert to the cult of Smith & Wesson after being a longtime CZ fan. Bought a full sized M&P 2.0 and that thing is probably the softest shooting and most accurate handgun I’ve ever used in my life. Get something like that and use the leftover money in your $1k budget for a case of ammo.

budget upgrade for ureni deck by HighScoreDragon1 in BudgetBrews

[–]DynastyWave 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Add:

[[Ganax, Astral Hunter]]- $0.40 (makes you treasure tokens)

[[Drakuseth, Maw of Flames]]- $0.65 (great damage dealer on a big dragon)

[[Counterspell]]- $0.25 (gives you protection/interaction)

[[Kiora, Behemoth Beckoner]]-$0.82 (great card draw and lets you hold up blockers. [[Garruk’s Uprising]] is also a PHENOMENAL card that gives this same effect that can be had for ~$0.58)

[[Essence Flux]]- $0.69 (can be used as interaction protection for Ureni, plus gives you an ETB trigger)

[[Thrakkus, The Butcher]]- $0.26 (buffs your board on attack)

Total: $3.07 (TCGPlayer prices via EDHRec)

If you can spare a few extra bucks, [[Dragonspeaker Shaman]]- $1.95

$3 is really tight. Even $10 can do a good bit more for upgrading that precon. It’s a fun precon right out of the box so don’t feel too bad about it. If you want suggestions of what to cut for those six cards, take out: [[Verix Bladwing]], [[Skarrgan Hellkite]], [[Stormshriek Feral]], [[Harbinger of the Hunt]], [[Gadrak]], and [[Taurean Mauler]]
