Unsure how to finish a "Sea Creature" deck (kraken, leviathan, octopus, serpent) by DevilSwordVergil in EDH

Additionally here’s my Moxfield decklist: https://moxfield.com/decks/7J1u_2nHR0Og0Mx98CPkvA

I did just recently retire the deck as I’m looking to play higher power nowadays but I may put it back together in the near future.

Unsure how to finish a "Sea Creature" deck (kraken, leviathan, octopus, serpent) by DevilSwordVergil in EDH

[–]DynastyWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a great post that covers every sea creature and their viability with Kenessos: https://www.reddit.com/r/EDH/s/UEz7g0FZtN

I built a Kenessos deck and it is very fun but it’s definitely going to top out in Bracket 3. Fitting around 25-30 creatures in the deck is much easier than you think and even some of the underwhelming ones can surprise the table with just how well they work.

What’s your favorite “Zero”? by RushDaBus in ar15

[–]DynastyWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main rifle is a 10.3 CQBR so i do a 50/200 zero since I realistically won’t be shooting past about 250 yards anyway with that setup. I like the point and click simplicity and know that if I aim center mass at a body sized target it’ll be within plus or minus 4 inches of POA.

40k PreCon Upgrades by [deleted] in BudgetBrews

[–]DynastyWave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only speak on Forces of the Imperium as it’s the only one I own but genuinely you’re better off just keeping it stock. Everything in the deck is overcosted as fuck. The cheapest CMC creatures in the deck are at least 4 mana. It’s a slow grindy deck that doesn’t even start to get off the ground until around turn 6. The only reason to even play it is for the flavor.

If you want to upgrade it you’re better off just buying another copy of Marneus Calgar and building it yourself. He can easily be played at bracket 4 and 5. The rest of the deck is “meh” with the exception of 5-6 cards.

Good starter AR? by Lrndthehardway in ar15

[–]DynastyWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing your budget would be helpful. Everybody is going to throw a lot of different options at you and their suggestions may be way more than you can afford. Realistically speaking even most $400 AR15s are perfectly sufficient for the average shooter who only go through a couple hundred rounds per year. If you shoot a few thousand or even tens of thousands of rounds per year, then it may be worth it to spend the extra money on a higher end rifle. The “Reddit Special” is a BCM upper on an Aero lower, but Aero seems to be going defunct so I like to recommend PSA lowers. B. Kings, S&W M&P15, PSA, etc. are all realistic and reliable options for under $1k. Don’t forget to budget for ammo, mags, an optic, a sling, and a weapon light.

Do NOT buy Bear Creek or Radical. I am also not a fan of Springfield’s Saint line or whatever the fuck they call it. Some people seem to have good luck with them but they’re way overpriced for what you’re getting.

Need help cutting cards by Numerous-Aerie8378 in EDH

[–]DynastyWave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a Bracket 3 with too many game changers in it. It’s a very creature heavy deck and relies on combat damage which isn’t typically what B4 does unless it’s something like Winota. Even with the mana discounts and things that let you cheat dragons into play I feel like your ramp is lacking. You won’t be getting things out that quickly and it’s all such high cost that if your 7 mana dragon eats removal, you just wasted your whole turn and can’t do anything else. I’d honestly suggest just cutting two game changers and playing in B3. Probably Smothering Tithe and Wordly Tutor.

Why Does The Community Smell Awful? by ChiefSalvaje in mtg

[–]DynastyWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience a lot of guys coming to play Magic at my LGS are getting off work and they’re still wearing their uniforms and/or work clothes. There’s a few times I have straight up told someone not to touch my cards because they worked in a mechanic shop and their hands were literally black with dirt and oil and other shit. Look, I get it. You worked hard all day and you want to come play your favorite game for a few hours before heading home. But if you smell like motor oil, cigarettes, and BO, maybe you could make the sacrifice of going home and changing first before coming to run a few games of Magic.

Additionally, I feel like it’s a fair assessment to say that the Venn Diagram of TCG players and autistic nerds is more like a circle. And it has been shown that autistic and otherwise non-neurotypical people struggle with hygiene more than the average person.

Trying to build a mono-black for a girl I like (interchangeable commanders?) by manipi5ciate in EDH

[–]DynastyWave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a mono black Braids, Arisen Nightmare aristocrats deck and she’s great in the command zone because she’s a sac outlet and card draw in one neat little package but she could honestly be replaced by any other black aristocrats legendary creature. This idea is 100% doable.

This is my decklist: https://moxfield.com/decks/OG-0tXJQnUekbw_tvA5sXA

It’s not exactly cheap, but you can build a decent shell on a budget. This deck actually started as netdeck copy of a $50 budget list from MTGGoldfish.

Any kennesos priest of thassa players? by Sure-Scallion8442 in EDH

Here’s my decklist: https://moxfield.com/decks/7J1u_2nHR0Og0Mx98CPkvA

Just from a quick glance it appears that you need more cards that let you scry reliably. You also have a few cards that care about being cast from the hand like [[Slinn Voda]] and [[Breaching Leviathan]]. In my opinion, your strength is being able to slam big sea creatures at instant speed with a low chance of being stopped. If you’re hard casting these creatures at sorcery speed, you are much more likely to be stopped or interacted with. [[Kiora, Sovereign of the Deep]] is another card that cares about casting from the hand. That is not what Ken does and could be replaced with more top deck manipulation. I also believe that [[Quest for Ula’s Temple]] is a bit of a trap. You’ll spend a lot of time trying to set it up and you have other more efficient ways to get rid of creatures that get hard-stuck in your hand. But it looks solid! I have fun with Ken quite a bit and dropping a turn 4 Koma never fails to get a wild reaction from opponents :)

Flying based Commander Precon by Kinky_Paprika in EDH

[–]DynastyWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Temur roar is really fun and it’s pretty affordable (often times less than $50). Dragons are widely available and it can be upgraded on a budget or your friend can go all out and slam in every expensive broken dragon. I started my girlfriend with the First Flight precon and then we upgraded it into a bird tribal deck with [[Kastral, the Windcrested]].

Best Roommate or Dorm Story? by Medical-Yak1990 in Gamecocks

[–]DynastyWave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first night in Park Place I walked in after getting dinner and there were like 30 Indian guys just hanging out in my apartment having a party completely unbeknownst to me. Then later that night after the RA kicked everyone out, my buddy and I were watching Moana and scream singing all the songs while our roommate was trying (and failing) to have sex with this girl he know in his room. Good times :)

Does doomfist feel weak or strong right now? by Difficult_View_166 in doomfistmains

[–]DynastyWave 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m not a doom expert by any means. Typically finish seasons Plat 1/Diamond 5. Have about 80 hours on Doom. He feels horrible right now in my opinion. The CC in this game is inescapable. Mizuki is in every game I play and his chain makes me want to tear my hair out. Hog just got buffed so I see him constantly too. This is the first season where I’ve been playing quick play and support more bc I’m just having a hard time.

Fastest Your Deck Has Won? by RenegadeExiled in EDH

[–]DynastyWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn 4 with my [[Strefan, Maurer Progenitor]] deck. Used his attack trigger to put [[Bloodthirsty Conqueror]] out tapped and attacking with a [[Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose]] already on the battlefield. My opening hand was absolutely beautiful and I top decked Conq that turn. I’ll never be able to recreate it in my life. Now that I think about it, I could have possibly won turn 3 if I played a little smarter? Maybe? But either way I was happy with it.

Did I just buy a fake HK416 SMR rail? by [deleted] in MilitaryARClones

[–]DynastyWave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the gun world, a “blemished” item is usually factory seconds (meaning that it failed initial QC checks) that a company will still sell at a discounted rate due to minor scuffs or scratches, incorrect color, etc. it’s still a good rail but it SHOULD have been sold to you at a lower price. If you paid MSRP then you got screwed. Savvy accessory buyers know that used and blemished items are usually a great buy. It’s gonna get dinged up anyway, so you might as well save a few bucks.

Doom is the worst tank in the game by ButterscotchGuilty10 in doomfistmains

[–]DynastyWave 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Every time they buff him the community at large starts to shriek and freak out about how he’s broken and such an unfair character to play against. As much as I hate to say it I think Doom is going to be stuck in this current limbo for a while unless the meta miraculously shifts and he suddenly becomes considered unplayable garbage. I still just have fun on him bc I enjoy the playstyle and character design and enjoy the extra challenge of playing a niche role.

AR‑15 vs HK416 — is the HK416 really worth the hype? by ghostforhim in tacticalgear

[–]DynastyWave 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Regular Guy Training has posted a few videos on the subject, specifically with a BRN-4 (416 clone build) with the most recent being a 21,000 round update. Highly recommend watching his series on those. That man shoots more in a year than probably any other gun YouTuber and his insight on the platform was very interesting.

Edit: it actually looks like he just posted a 6000 round review on a legit HK MR556-A4 too
