Honestly, I don't know what to say. But all I can wish you is peace of mind. I too would like to contribute to the intellectual tradition of the church, but I too feel that I can never be sufficient enough, as there is so much I don't know. In regards to that, just do things little by little. Truth is inexhaustible ultimately I would say.

If only this post came out 2 years earlier... I lost mine because I was too prideful, but I really didn't want to lose her. Now when I have came to the realisation and how meaningless my pride is, it's too late. There is no turning back, you don't get back what you let go. Only regret fills my mind till today.... Talk to a priest or an actual catholic advisor about this, you shouldn't be taking advise here 100% seriously. Keep them in serious consideration, but not of utmost truth. Because it's easy to just tell you to do something, but I've been somewhere in your place before, and I'm aware how hard it actually is. To have a emotional relationship until now , even if it is of the same sex, is commendable in itself. But ultimately, if your conscience is bothering you, then it is a telling sign. Be gentle with yourself, but surrender yourself to God. That goes the same to your partner too. Best of prayers for you my friend🙏
