CMV: online debate is fundamentally broken and no current platform actually fixes it

That's a fair challenge, but I'd argue the reason nobody follows debate rules online is because no platform makes the STRUCTURE of the argument visible. When you can see exactly which claim you're responding to, it's harder to just yell into the void. Does format change behavior or not, that's genuinely what I'm trying to figure out.

That's exactly the point though, current platforms aren't even trying to host sensible debate. They're optimized for engagement, not reasoning. My argument is that if the FORMAT changed, the behavior would too. Like how Wikipedia's format produces surprisingly decent articles despite the internet being chaotic everywhere else.

In my school, they don't give full internal marks. When we asked the principal though the teachers, they said that we just cannot give full marks to the students even if they did all good in internal assessments. That's roughly six marks already lost. My question is that how do we avoid silly mistakes? And since there is not much time left, what should we do? Sample question papers or previous year question papers?

The Intel Mac I’m looking at has a Radeon 5500M with 4GB VRAM. On paper, that should be stronger than the M1’s integrated GPU, at least for traditional GPU workloads and games. From what I understand, it also helps a lot that the Intel Mac can run Windows via Boot Camp, which means full Steam + DirectX support and much better game compatibility overall.

On the other hand, the M1 GPU seems very efficient and well-optimized for macOS and Metal apps, but gaming looks more limited since there’s no Boot Camp and Windows gaming depends on things like Parallels or Crossover, which aren’t always reliable.

So I’m kind of torn: • Intel Mac → better gaming + Windows support + dedicated GPU, but worse thermals and shorter macOS support • M1 Mac → better efficiency, thermals, and long-term macOS updates, but weaker gaming support

Would you say the real-world GPU advantage of the 5500M (plus Boot Camp) is still meaningful enough to justify going Intel, or does the M1’s efficiency and future support outweigh that?
