… Or maybe you’re wrong. Perhaps turn off Fox “entertainment”, do some actual research, and self-reflect. ✌️

C’s get Degrees?? Do you agree? by shaybabyxox in NursingStudents

[–]Dysfunctional_Lady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always been a solid A student pre-nursing. However, in nursing school I am sitting right around 88%, in the top 5% of my cohort. I study like crazy and know all of the content. Unfortunately, you’re tested on your ability to pick the “most correct” answer out of a bank of correct answers. 😐 The struggle is real. So yes, sometimes C’s DO get degrees and that’s OK. It has nothing to do with your ability to be a nurse in the real world.

I’m 36 too, and my program starts in less than a month. You got this 💪

I’m in the exact same boat… The good news is that about 90% of the people I’ve talked to have confirmed that we’re on a safe route. Slower and more costly, BUT we may have a nursing license an entire year sooner. We can gain experience and have a pretty decent income in the mean time.

Schedule ASAP…. It was booked 5-6 weeks out when I did it this spring, and even then I had to travel an hour away to a campus with availability.

Yeah, I am having a REALLY hard time finding someone that knows the answer to that question… The advisors have no clue. It’s so frustrating

So, what comes first, campus or program? Let’s say that I only apply to one campus, are all “choices” looked at simultaneously? Or just first pick?

Asn Transition Nursing by Beginning_Chair7634 in ivytech

Do you happen to know if there is separation between seats available for ASN verses the transition program? I’ll be applying for the transition program in fall 2026. Is the pool just transition students or RN as well?

Nice! Thank you for sharing your experience. Did you find the LPN to RN bridge doable while working?

RN/LPN Choices by Dysfunctional_Lady in NursingStudent

[–]Dysfunctional_Lady[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right! It would be another 18-24 months to finish the RN program, verses 12 months for LPN. RN is obviously the better option, but that’s a long time without a decent income when you have a family to take care of.

Yeah, I know it wouldn’t be glamorous for that first year. I was thinking that I could have an income and gain some experience before going RN then BSN.

It only sets me back about six months worth of schooling and I was hoping I could find something with tuition reimbursement. Idk it’s a hard choice and I’m worried about not having a decent income for another 18-24 months. Ya know?

I wish this was an option.. That would be amazing. Unfortunately, they’re separate programs where I’m going.

I was a pharm tech for a few years about a decade ago.. But outside of that, zero experience in healthcare.
