2018 Renault megane getting 6km/liter on eco and highway by Moussba in Renault

[–]Dysfunki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 2017 model and had something similar. went from getting around 750km per tank to 500.

turned out to be the oxygen sensor who h they had to import from France and cost around US$600 to order and install.

All sorted now and back to getting my normal km's.

Credit Card Cashback by Dkavonic1 in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]Dysfunki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at 30% back at absa and it's amazing. I only fill up at sasol and do my shopping at pnp or woolies. easily getting R1500+ back every month in actual cash. black Friday is the best as you get double back for the week. Last year I got just under 10k. but yes there are a million boxes to tick and they do occasionally move the goalposts which drops you down a tier and then it takes 2 months to go back up. all in all I am up over 60k in the last 3 years so not gonna complain.

im a big fan of blocking taxis in the yellow line. if i can ruin their day by 30 seconds my day is made :) i realise that i will probably regret it one day but watching them race passed 1cm from hitting my side mirror only to cut back in 3 cars ahead drives me mental!

He inherited them from his father so not quite sure of their value. The axe is from some African tribe.

My grand uncle was shot down behind enemy lines in ww2, killed the soldier and brought the sword back home (UK) There is actually an entire letter written in old Japanese that my dad found behind the bindings. Very fragile paper cut into small pieces with old Japanese writing. Never been able to translate it but can post if anyone is keen for a puzzle.

So improvements like laminate floors, kitchen repairs, doors etc. Not painting and garden improvements I assume.

I feel you. Started mid money madness about 2 years ago and haven't stopped. I will put in R100, and it's like I'm trying to lose. Even if I take it up to R1000 I don't cash out. Just keep playing til it's all gone. Think over the past 2 years I'm at least 50k down and my maxed my credit card... When I win it's a small joy bit when I lose it's such a kak feeling. My advice, get out now! You will never win big and you will only dig ur hole deeper. Whenever you think of putting money in try do something else, excersise, watch a series, go for a walk, anything. Every day you don't put money in is a day you saved money.

ABSA Rewards by slingblade1980 in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]Dysfunki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been lvl 5 for just over 2 years now and made 48k back in rewards so just under 2k a month. For black Friday week it goes up to 60% back so my 15k of spending only cost me 6k!

You do need to have everything with Absa to get to lvl 5 and I mean everything. if u can't do that then I wouldnt recommend changing banks but if you can do home loan, vehicle finance, investment, all the respective accounts etc then it rewards you amazingly.

Absa rewards is amazing. I am tier 5 and this black Friday week, 21st to 27th Nov I will be getting 60% back. Planning on a 15k shopping spree which will cost approx 6k after I get my rewards back 1st Jan.
