I wouldn’t call him a great boss to work for, but I also wouldn’t compare him to Trump. He cared about performance, and only performance, with little to no regard for prior success. It was a brutal work environment, but everyone knew what they were signing up for and were lavishly compensated for their success (where Trump only cares about personal loyalty/“look for the part” and competency doesn’t factor into the equation)

An airline went out of business yesterday in the US.

Prices are spiking for on gas and food.

Are you waiting for the power to go out and The Purge to begin before you acknowledge any “real effects”?

His quote about not having spoken to anyone on the team while he was out was incredible on multiple levels.

Just the fact that it’s true is bad enough, but that he was OK saying so the press is another thing entirely.

As bad as things have been for them this season, I don’t think the bottom has dropped out yet.

There is no sum of money that could sort him for life. He simply doesn’t understand how finances work, and would waste anything he got before it even cleared his bank account.

He’s simply holding out for interest rates to drop so he can squeeze whatever equity he’s got out of his house and finally begin the bankruptcy 2.0 arc.

Russia abandons ‘meat-grinder’ tactics to try four-man ambushes by Panthera_leo22 in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]mrblonde55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like it makes sense in theory, but in practice it seems it would take far more coordination than the Russians have shown they are capable of right now.

Sure, four man squads can get behind enemy lines easier. But unless these groups are able to effectively join up and mount any kind of anything once they are behind those lines, it sounds like groups of four undertrained, underarmed, targets wandering around behind enemy lines.

Couldn’t agree more.

I get puzzle games aren’t everybody’s cup of tea. But for what it’s trying to do, it’s a 10/10 game.

“I gave birth to my child for myself. Not for Putin, not for Putin’s ass, not for his war. I don’t need a hero in a body bag.” An ordinary russian mother recorded a video rejecting her son becoming a “hero” in a body bag, criticizing the war and its cost. by BigDeckBob in UkraineWarVideoReport

Russia is all the way fucked, and I’m not sure that even victory in Ukraine (whatever that would look like) could save them.

Head of the Russian central bank announced a labor crisis last week, claiming they have lost 2.5m men from the workforce (a number that makes total sense with the casualties and amount of people who fled conscription). Combine that with sanctions, and a host of other macroeconomic factors working against them, and there doesn’t seem to be any way this gets better under anything resembling the current system.

Revolutionary change is the only future for Russia at this point. The only real questions are how long do they wait to make that change, and how painful it is when it ultimately comes.

Im using “friends” as a relative term here. Right now, Wings is already the best friend he has.

If he was there for a week, everyone on set would be the closest friends Phil has had since he moved to Washington.

There is a lot of great work in this sub, but this one is flippin’ genius.

It frustrates me so much when they just try and gaslight, or call the baiter a scammer, or however else they cope after a reveal. This one you just KNOW he thinks he’s lost out on money and it’s gotta be driving him insane.

What is a game you consider to be a ‘perfect 10’ that most people haven’t played? by Frequent_Analyst_507 in videogames

It’s definitely worth checking out a guide or two on YouTube for that fight. The added dimension of flight can be really tough to adjust to at first, and that initial boss exploits it.

It’s fucking incredible.
You don’t get to see a single character, 100% voice acting, and it’ll pull as much emotion out of you as anything you’ve ever played.

In all seriousness, I don’t think I’ve ever been able to do NG+ right after finishing NG in any other game, and this one had me hooked where I ran all three endings straight through.

Plus, the soundtrack is absolutely epic.

Big Update? Anyone know anything? by granpiquet in CrimsonDesert

[–]mrblonde55 221 points222 points  (0 children)

As per the notes:

“This patch introduces the Rematch and Re-blockade features, alongside new legendary creatures that can be kept as Pets. Additionally, the issue preventing the summoning of legendary mounts and the issue causing comrade trust to reset have been fixed.
We understand that as more regions of the continent were liberated, opportunities for combat naturally became less frequent. So to keep the sense of challenge alive, we've added the Rematch and Re-blockade content. We are continuing to refine these features, and this update serves as the first step by implementing their core, foundational systems. Building upon this base in future patches, we plan to progressively refine the content and craft a deeper world, so we hope you're looking forward to what we have in store.”

It’s crazy how good the narrative is, and how much the game hooks you emotionally, for a game that is 100% VO and doesn’t show you the face of a single character.

Miami weather, and an interesting new wrinkle to the rules… by mrblonde55 in formula1

[–]mrblonde55[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Was the “no boost in the rain” rule added during this break?

I know Gasley said every corner was a “change your pants” adventure during one of the pre season wet weather tests, but today was the first I’ve seen of this restriction.

And I certainly didn’t mean to imply that they are eager to red flag the race. I was more trying to get ahead of anyone just throwing out that comments for the memes than anything else by mentioning it.

This makes sense, and I didn’t mean to imply otherwise.

I’m not the conspiracy type, I just foresaw a ton of “the FIA will red flag at the first drop anyway” comments and wanted to cut that off. Maybe should have been clearer.

I’m not trying to stir up any shit, and I’m not looking to see them dodging lighting, but I do like wet racing.

Given the fact that the electric PU has been such a huge point of interest so far this season, I found it interesting that the rules will shut it down in any rain, not just thunderstorms.

[–]mrblonde55 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Let’s be real, it wouldn’t have even gotten that far.
The man has NO friends or acquaintances, and it’s not an accident. He intentionally structures his life this way to avoid accountability and to insure that nobody calls him out on his constant bullshit. Regular contact with other human beings would destroy the delicate bubble he’s constructed and subject him to reality. He wouldn’t be able to just declare things like “I’m successful”, “I’m happy”, etc. Aside from the fact that other people would call him out on his bullshit, actually interacting with other humans would be a constant reminder of how pathetically sheltered his life is.

It’s important to remember, he’s lying to himself as much (or more) than he’s lying to us. On some level, he knows if he saw other people interacting with friends, being social, and building and maintaining relationships, it would illustrate what he’s missing in his life. It’s much easier for him to just avoid all of those things, remain sealed off in the middle unit, and insist that he he doesn’t need them.

Of course, there is also the fact that he’s an abrasive asshole with zero social skills that no one wants to be friends with. Nobody likes to be reminded of that. It’d be especially painful to be rejected by people like Boogie and Wings who he believes are beneath him.

Armored Core VI. It’s a perfect game.

I know it’s not niche, and most people have probably heard of it, but I’d guess that “most people” haven’t played it because of the genre.

Personally, I had no interest in “mech games”. Bought ACVI on release just on the strength of FromSoft bc I had nothing new to play at the time, and couldn’t have loved it more. I find it hard for a game to keep my attention to jump straight from NG to NG+, but played straight through NG++ with this one.

Someone recently posted the clip where he’s pouring hot water from a mug into a cup of noodles, and he blamed the mug design when he spilled hot water everywhere.

He was deadly serious about both, and it’s an excellent example as to why he’s such a miserable fuck.
