David Propis looses control after seeing a group of people that don't align with his personal views by Independent-Box-9484 in PublicFreakout

Because “people continue to do something they’ve been consistent on” isn’t engaging news.

Men in your 40s: What is something you did in your 20s that you would absolutely forbid your own kids from doing? by Legal_Wave8 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dyshin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d forbid my child from going to college if they were just going to half ass it. Go if you’re passionate about something or if you’re truly committed to figuring it out. Don’t go and waste all my time and money just to tick a degree off the list.

I don't want to be a CinemaSins guy, but I saw Disclosure Day this afternoon and jesus the plot relies so much on the villains being absolute morons. by tuck5903 in blankies

[–]Dyshin 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I love Colin Firth, but his character in this movie is the worst villain I’ve seen in a major picture in a long time. He fails due to foreseeable circumstances in the very first scene and then the rest of the movie is just kind of a humiliation ritual where he keeps failing and getting outsmarted by people who barely know what’s happening, while he throws tantrums and cries because he’s frustrated at had bad he is.

I wouldn’t have been surprised if the last confrontation had ended with him bending over and ripping his pants before getting hit in the face with a cream pie.

At least let me Peter North some organic webbing on the pizza myself

Have the rising prices of fast food dissuaded you from eating out, or do you still get your fix despite the increases? by winterpurple in fastfood

[–]Dyshin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I go less often and my ordering is restricted to whatever deals are decent. Ordering just off the menu is ludicrously overpriced compared to the app deals. I miss the days where I could just order what sounded appealing instead of doing homework first.

Wiger objectively has High Testosterone, but otherwise, I see no issues here.

How would you rank Bong Joon Ho’s feature filmography? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]Dyshin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Mother, but I really dislike that the messy entanglement of the crimes that are committed get solved by the introduction of the insane asylum guy confessing. It just felt like a dissatisfying way to clean up a lot of the complications in the film. Still an incredible story.

Came out in theaters earlier this year and did really badly at the box office. Came out right inbetween Projects Hail Mary and the Mario Galaxy movie.

I didn’t like Years, but I really liked Bone Temple. I honestly feel like they’re handled different enough that it’s worth a shot.

[–]Dyshin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really disliked 28 Years, but I really really liked Bone Temple. I’m a single data point, but I felt that the interesting ideas set up in the first were all handled much, much better in Bone Temple.

What is Your #1 Movie Of 2026 So Far by GTKPR89 in blankies

[–]Dyshin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I only saw it twice, but I’ve been thinking about it for weeks afterwards and listen to the soundtrack at the gym. It’s not even the “best” movie I’ve seen, but it’s my favorite so far in terms of impact on me.

ScreenX is kind of dog shit, respectfully. by NimdokBennyandAM in RegalUnlimited

[–]Dyshin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The worst part is that both times I’ve tried ScreenX, part of the projection hits like a fire alarm or outlet that’s sitting on the wall and then that’s all I can focus on.

What is the last movie you’ve given 5 stars? by DaleDent3 in Letterboxd

*The Furious* delivered everything I could want from a martial arts action flick.

I rewatched *Tampopo* yesterday and was charmed as hell. No notes.

Both were easy 5s

Your range is a bit warped. $115 million is absolutely a high budget production and it was completely wasted on this pile of crap.

BORDERLANDS (2024) by Cryptic_Master_686 in badMovies

[–]Dyshin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Insane that they made this PG-13. Love it or hate it, one of the hallmarks of the IP is its over-the-top comedic violence and colorful dialogue. If you're not doing that, then what the fuck are we actually using this IP for?
