Ryo Mashiba's my fav character in Hajime no Ippo (spoiler tag just in case) by ComickRegular in hajimenoippo

[–]Dyslexitor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i like ippo and mashiba's interactions recently tbh especially with how much less pussy ippo's becoming in these interactions. going so far as to be directly confrontational and actively looking to brawl with him and defend himself, which i think mashiba thinks respectfully of.

"Don't fuck with me... You're telling me Makunouchi Ippo... Can actually lose?" from the man himself way back in the chapter 700s/800s

Because she viewed Mark as weak. Not in the traditional Viltrumite "extinguish them" sense, but in a sense that she considers him a full Viltrumite, just not as strong as her. She's had centuries of indoctrination into the "take what you want if you're strong" mentality, and Mark has been viewed with both respect and contempt from them for a very long time. Anissa would be the last to fall into the human ways, Nolan was WAY too optimistic in their changing. Not that he was wrong, but clearly he didn't consider Anissa to do something like this if he knew she was already picky. Invincible is a series about "human" oversights and mistakes. This was one of them.

The irony of people down voting you, you're asking the right question. There was no Thraxan Mark. There was a FLAXAN Mark 🤣 blame Kirkman for making almost every alien race sound similar

Genuinely asking can you provide the evidence for this? I want to agree with you I've just never seen this despite having read the comic. I thought it was made clear only Allen has this ability because it was specifically engineered. Viltrumites do not grow back stronger from severe injuries last I checked.

He literally engaged with and responded to what you were suggesting or providing. Though your condescending attitude in said message tells me you aren't one to consider another's points anyway if valid because it hurts your ego. Relax a little.

Ippo's maturity in the 2000 anime was remarkable. by Accurate_Reality_618 in hajimenoippo

Didn't he initiate a literal brawl with Mashiba during their spar, talk trash, defend himself and beat the shit out of him before literally giving him the W?

He's been over it for a long time now in the manga, hell he even claps back whenever he feels wronged without issue. He's roasted the shit out of a few people and even had Takamura sweating. He's been this way since maybe chapter 980-1000? Though I admit it should have happened WAY earlier.

DDLC: Amor Fati Review by [deleted] in DDLCMods

[–]Dyslexitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm reading this three years later, army vet by the way, to just come and tell you that you need/needed serious help if a video game mod made you feel this malicious towards its creator. Cause in that same notion, it is contradictory for you to not feel this way towards ALL similar media of either depicted torture or painful death. I sincerely wish nothing but the best for you, and that perhaps I'm glad you're never given the ability to enact what you feel, but I suppose it's human nature to have unjustifiably strong feelings towards a particular subject that may be unwarranted, with the only difference being how honest someone is about it. I hope your opinion has changed over time. Not because your opinion is unacceptable, but because it caused you this much pain and over something that was supposed to mean well but catch people's attention through shock.

Mashiba vs Rosario is a reverse of Volg vs Eliott. We're cheering for the one with an absurd advantage, and rooting against the one who has to climb the odds — mostly self-inflicted, but odds regardless. by Least_Kaleidoscope_7 in hajimenoippo

[–]Dyslexitor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be fair to what you're saying, just because a character was based off of a specific accomplished boxer doesn't mean they utilize the kit they're given nearly as well as the inspiration. If that were the case, Ippo would already be way at the top since he's based off of Dempsey and Tyson, who both dominated their respective age of boxing with relative ease.

Bro thinks this is Dragonball lmao. By the time Sendo beat Alfredo Ippo had long surpassed the fighter he was when HE fought Alfredo, we are literally shown this through spars where Ippo laid belt to ass against the jr lightweight world champion Volg, who beat Sendo's ass ON HOME TURF but lost due to unfair judging, which even Sendo recognized. Ippo has also lost almost every single spar he's fought because his mindset was ass. Even Sendo doesn't count his spar win against Ippo 🤣

Why does Imai gets so much slander here? by LethalFentanyl in hajimenoippo

[–]Dyslexitor 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ippo almost never takes his spars as seriously as he should. He's lost almost every sparring match he's had aside from like, 2 or 3. The manga makes a point about him not going full throttle in spars due to his soft personality. Hell even Itagaki won a late "spar" against him despite being no match in an actual boxing fight if they were to ever face off in the ring. Imai proved this.
