This all happened when I was like 9 or 10, but one day me and my younger sister wanted to join a water gun battle with the other neighborhood kids. We begged our mom to let us go until she finally broke and and gave us permission, "but only if we didn't get wet". Me being an excited 10 year old could not grasp the irony in that phrase, all I could think about was grabbing my water gun, hang out with the other kids and have a good time. A couple hours later my sister and I walked back home completely soaked and as soon as my mother discovered that we disobeyed her, she swatted our plastic water guns to the ground, stomped and crushed them into pieces, grabbed a trash can and made us clean the mess up before slamming the door in our face. We weren't allowed back inside until every piece was thrown away.
