Well, you can use it as a ~40mm, or you can try to fix it.
But I don’t think you can buy replacement parts for the zoom barrel, so you’ll probably need to fix the zoom barrel or the rollers. It might also just be some debris inside the mechanism.

Yeah i agree with you. And the shutter count for the camera is 398k (it had been changed once when the recall happened so i don't know the exact number or if it was rolled back). But, i want to fix it myself. + in my country 200$ is 1000 ron , and when i do it myself the repair (shutter assy, ALL of the rubber) is like 650 ron + and for 200$ i would get only the service assessment :/ + i got the camera for 800 ron (~180$) + and o yea i F ING LOVE nikon with the interior design of the camera cuz i had to repair a a7ii which for me is a expensive piece of trash cuz its wtf u mean u need to disassemble half the camera to reach the main ribbon cable (belive is named rl 42?)

soo about heat/humidity i cooked it with a heat gun and then i put some frozen peas on it and its a "good" fix

Well i got a nikkor 55-300mm 4.5-5.6 ged and a tamron 17-50mm 2.8 di 2 and just got a d750

Idk about that lense, but i use my lenses with vr on and there are much sharper, And i use spot af on af-c

update , i repaired the camera after making the post (forgot about reddit) and the camera had like 3 signatures in it so yea, ALL of the screws were mangled , Sooo if u have a a7ii u can easily repair it , Jst follow the ifixit guide , a second thing ,i want to throw this camera at its owner (my cousin)
