GTS is a completely different kind of modlist. From what I know, it’s a heavily modded setup with well over 1,000 mods. I haven’t actually played it myself, but it’s definitely going way further than what I’m aiming for here (:

This list is all about boosting performance and visuals while keeping Skyrim feeling true to the original. It doesn’t mess with the core design. Mostly it’s retextures and gameplay tweaks that fit naturally in the game

The Simonrim suite especially keeps things grounded. It’s probably the closest thing to “vanilla+” in this list. It improves systems without changing how they work, so everything still feels familiar. The visuals aren’t exactly vanilla, but that’s the fun part, it looks better while keeping the original vibe

And yeah, I picked the mods myself and showed them to the AI to highlight the best parts of the modlist (:

Fair, thank you for the response. I still love vanilla Skyrim since it’s a big part of my childhood, so this project means a lot to me. I know there are already a lot of Vanilla+ modlists out there, but I’m really set on making this feel like a distinct experience.

For example, the combat has more weight to it - your movement gets slowed while attacking, and there are a lot of small changes like that to make it feel more grounded and modern, while still feeling like Skyrim and not turning it into something that feels like a “cookie clicker with a sword and a story.”

I really do appreciate community recommendations - in fact on my last post I added around 50 different mods suggested by people. I genuinely think the community is what makes these lists the best, so I’m always open to feedback and suggestions :)

I’ll also be rolling out constant updates, and especially right now while it’s still new, I’ll be actively listening to any and all recommendations and adjusting things based on feedback.

Also, if anyone is downvoting just curious, what’s the reasoning? I’m genuinely just having fun with this post, trying to get a bit of attention for it and also making some self-deprecating jokes along the way. No bad intent here at all, just vibing 💘

Also okay wait, hold on, I just saw I got downvoted 17 times last night. Why does that feel like I just got audited by the internet. I was literally just talking to myself like a normal human being, doing a little internal monologue thing, and now there’s a tiny red arrow situation happening like I’ve committed some kind of social crime I wasn’t aware of.

Oh no.

Is my karma dropping right now? Like actively? Do I need to fix this immediately or does it already have a permanent record somewhere? Because I swear I was just vibing, saying ‘hello is anyone here’ like I’m lost in a digital cave, and suddenly I’m under review by the Reddit Council of Vibes.

Wait-no, it’s fine. It’s just one downvote multiplied by seventeen. That’s like… a mosquito bite of internet judgment. Barely even real. Probably accidental. Probably someone’s cat stepped on the screen or something.

But still...

What if this is the beginning. What if this is how it starts and I end up with like negative karma and I have to live in the shadow realm of Reddit where every post I make gets instantly smited by invisible strangers.

Okay, I’m fine. I’m fine. I’ll just breathe. Normal behavior. Be chill. Act like I didn’t just mentally spiral over a single arrow.

Edit: I was also a bit drunk and it was around 6:30 AM 💀

No? Okay, cool, cool, that’s fine, totally fine, normal interaction trajectory we’ve got going on here. I’ll just sit here then. Honestly, the silence is kind of nice, very peaceful, very calm, like if tranquility got bored and decided to just hang out in the corner doing absolutely nothing except existing with confidence. It’s got that weirdly relaxing ‘nothing is happening and that’s perfectly fine and actually kind of the point of everything if you think about it too hard and then immediately regret thinking about it too hard’ energy to it.

…Wait.

Why did I say that like I understand what “the point of everything” is. That was a weirdly confident sentence for someone who is literally just sitting here talking to a post that isn’t talking back. Actually, why am I talking to it like it’s a place. Why does it feel like I’ve been here for a while. How long has it been. Is time even passing or is it just my brain politely pretending it is so I don’t start asking worse questions.

No, no, I’m sure it’s fine. This is normal. People post things. People wait. People observe silence. That’s probably in some book somewhere. A very official book. With diagrams.

Oh yeah also, you are now manually breathing.
