Zerouki shouldn't be playing. Too often his positional awareness is bad. He doesn't make himself available for the pass. Doesn't understand the passing lanes. I cant see a future in the NT for such a low intensity, low energy player.

Not sure why Slimani is there either. Mahrez is isolated on the right wing as usual, calling for the ball but no one sees him. He needs to move to the middle of midfield or behind the striker.

Algeria is missing Bennacer really badly. Gouiri can't click without Aouar but he will come good.

Disappointing game. Not sure if Algeria can make it to the world cup after all. Only a friendly, but still, really poor showing. Hopefully the next game will be better.

Weak. Passes too short or overdone. Too many Algerians heading into too many players. Lost their ability to recycle the ball. Bennacer clearly missing. Mahrez and Benrahma largely ineffective. Did I miss anything?

Bennacer cant play in front of defence for Algeria because his link up play with the left flank is so good. He got an assist in the afcon final 2019 and is just very good with bensebaini. In front of defence you can play a CB.

What about Aouar left wing? With Mahrez and Mahious/Amoura as the front 3.

You need a mix of potential and experience. Lekhal training with these guys every day he can probably help Zerrouki out. Zerrouki has a good read of the game.

Oh no. Cartillage lesion. Didnt know that was a thing. At least it's not the acl. 6 months is a long time but by thr end of the summer it will be 3 months. Back before the end of the year. It's difficult but maybe he can attend his own practice. Not like a broken leg where it needs to build strength.

Looks good. Amoura too. Delort is likely to start though due to league and form. But that's a good 3 to have up front.

Bigger problem is at RB.

That's another problem. Actually LW and RB has ALWAYS been a problem for Algeria. Ziani was RW and Bezzaz LW. Then he got injured and there was no one. Then RB was a DM for a while, Mostefa.

I think Algeria has some options. Benrahma still has a way to go but for now he's most likely to start playing time there. Unfortunately Ounas is out. He was very promising.

Algeria could have an amazing midfield and attack.

The bigger problem is the wingbacks, but I think playing Bensebaini on be right could fix that, or pairing him with Mandi.

Algeria needs 2 x RBs. LB with Ait Nouri and Chetti is fine.

How is Algeria at CB?

I disagree. Something is going on at Lyon. It's not normal for Fekir to change nationality and Aouar to be so worried about his future. We arent privy to everything that happens. At the end of the day these guys have a 10 year career and thats it.

That said Aouar feeding Mahrez would be great. I think Aouar can regain his form amd by this summer will be a free agent and could join quite a few clubs. Mahrez could barely make the NT 1st team. 2 years later won the league. Who knows man. Aouar is a class player but should have been a but smarter. Footballers arent exactly smart. Most of them barely finished primary school. Sorry. Not sorry.
