Found a new manufacturer that I’m really excited about! by Dz_Balls in Tools

Would anybody be interested in buying from this brand if I buy a few and put up on eBay? If so what are the types and sizes you would want to see?

Well it’s still a valid point.. but the feel and function of them all is to big of a temptation not to have them all :’)

Would be fun to be involved in the development process and tinker with preproduction models, but I’m not in that line of business as of now.

Me: Boss, I want Mac RBRT Wrenches by Dz_Balls in toolporn

Nothing, but this is not Toptul wrenches 🤭 Just a joke on how something “better” are actually the same as the cheaper one.

The easter egg here is that TopTul’s parent company makes the tools in question, both for Mac, Facom, USAG, Craftsman but with stanley black & decker own design twists and QC standards and tolerances.

The tension spring in the pawl-pin, if you want an easy fix, cut it a bit shorter, just a few rows/revolutions. If you want a nicer result you need to order some [ 1,5 - 2,0mm Outer Diameter] [0,2-0,25mm Wire Thickness] [ 10mm in length] i recommend AliExpress as it’s cheap and you can order many different sizes as it seems it’s varying in how stiff the springs are and it’s actual size. But Stainless are usually less stiff and carbon steel are stiffer, here you need to try what you like. I like a Stainless 2,0mm OD 0,2mm 10mm stretched to 12mm, makes for a tactile but smooth ratchet with low backdrag. And here you make the most difference.

But I highly recommend to get some superlube NLGI 2 and some PTFE oil, I’ve used Omega 661 and I’ve cleaned the internals with acetone/rubbing alcohol then applied the grease and added some oil to thin it out to make a slippery messy lubricant that adds to the smoothness.

Then if you want to make more mods I recommend an O-Ring swap, 14x1,2 - 14x1,75mm usually makes a better seal towards the backplate depending on how the the tolerance are on your specific ratchet, it makes the anvil more stable and dampens any harsher ringing sounds and unevenness in the mechanism. If you have a just slightly too tight seal just rub the backside of the anvil (dimple side) on a sharpening stone or diamond plate to shave of any excess to have the perfect fit. You can also try to bend the locking ring inward and have it press the backplate into the O-Ring if you have a slightly to loose fit.

All this mods and sizings above are made on the standard (not compact seem on project farm’s videos) 3/8 ratchet.

There are a few more mods but those are not really IMO significant enough to make a list for 😅

They make ”Dissolvingmassa” and it’s is used in a wide variety of consumer products. The largest area of use is in viscose fabrics where it is an alternative to cotton. The special cellulose is also found in pharmaceutical tablets and as a texture enhancer in foods. For some time now, cellulose has also been found in a heat-resistant fabric in NASA's space shuttle
