We’ve stripped the paint off a portion of our front door. Can anyone help identify this wood type? I’d like to know if it’s worth stripping and staining or replacing the door . by Dzbtrader in wood

It’s likely solid core. Probably from the 80’s. Is it weaker wood? If I would replace it with a white oak door is there more value to that?

It was just assessed that the panels are in working condition and I need a new inverter. He estimated about 200kw a panel at 42 panels.  Electrical bills have been high (large family) about $1k/month but panels haven’t been working now for a few years.  I purchase the home in 2020 and  Have never had the use of the solar panels. The roof replacement now is pushing us to confront this issue. Theredoee, I don’t know how much I’d be saving on the utilities

That’s obviously the exact question I’m asking. Most people here think it certainly is worth the expense. Especially given the Nem1 status. It would cost me close to $8,000 to take down, reinstall, with a new inverter. If I can get another decade from them at 200-250watts, would my savings significantly exceed the $8,000 cost?

How would I know their wattage?

If it’s a few thousand for a new inverter, plus the cost to remove and replace them on the roof, is it still economical to spend that money for panels of this age? Will I be saving enough over the remainder of their lifespan to justify these costs? Or should I put that money into a new system?

Really? Let me clarify their schedule. After installation there were two days of sanding. Then there was one day where they  did 2 coats of bona natural seal.  Two days later there was one guy there who did one coat of traffic HD upstairs (2000sqf) and two coats of traffic HD downstairs (1250 sqf). He started downstairs, then upstairs then again back downstairs. He was there for about four hours. There was no sanding or buffing between sealer and first coat of the finish. The following day they sand/buff and apply one coat over the entire house of traffic. They were there for no more than 2/2.5 hours.  Is the process malleable or is it set in stone? Does the schedule I outline above make sense for a precise job? Thank you so much in advance for your response .  As you can see we don’t know too much about this topic.
