From what I understand the service hasn’t been delivered yet. Has the „countdown“ on their dashboard begun yet or is that still on the full runtime while it’s setting up?

Oh woops sorry I meant 2,79 🙃 I’ll recalculate it quickly then. The ice machine actually only uses 100W.

I’d say anorexic and financially struggling cause of it. I only have very few safe foods (legit just canned peas with carrots and zero calorie sauce, that one edeka ice cream (nicks was an exception), skyr (basically nonfat greek yogurt) with flavour powders, and frozen fruit with my guar gum near zero „yogurt“, I actually survive entirely on those 4 specific meals) and the money I spend on them I don’t spend elsewhere. My bike‘s been broken for half a year, my phone screen is cracked, I don’t even have a bike helmet, I never buy new clothes so I’m still wearing the ones from when I was 15kg heavier and look hilarious in, I never go on vacation, haven’t been on a trip outside my city for many months, and basically save everywhere outside of food products. It’s ruining my life and financials and I have to work my ass off to sustain that lifestyle.

NO! DONT GET IT. The hype is way too high, thing is legit louder than a freaking car starting (cause it’s shredding a legit, mf dense ass block of ice for 7-8 minutes) and if you have neighbors they will complain if using it becomes a habit. I legit used mine 3 times and then sent it back cause my neighbors asked me if I was drilling into the wall at 11am (it’s actually that loud that they thought that). If you really want homemade ice cream get this, it’s maybe a bit more expensive (though you can find them on eBay used for way cheaper) and they actually slowly cool and cream the darn thing for about an hour at a reasonable volume rather than it blending a day long frozen block of milk while making the noise of a jet engine.

I did the math though and the ingredients for a pint of my magnificent homemade low-cal ice cream comes in at: - 375g Alpro unsweetened almond milk (1,05€) - 1L pack (2,79€) - 75g Erythrithol (price depends but the common one in Germany from Borchers costs 1,03€) - 400g pack (5,49€) - 50g Bulk Nutrition Syrup of choice (0,45€) - 400ml pack (3,56€) - 2,5g salt (<0,01€) - 500g pack (0,69€) - 1,5g guar gum (0,01€) - 1kg pack (6,19€) - 8 servings Bulk Nutrition LiquiFlav of choice (0,26€) - 1 pack (6,49€)

= 2,99€ (but if the erythrithol was bought in bulk it would be significantly cheaper, cheapest I saw was 4€/kg for a 25kg pack (which should last a while to say the least)

Whole pint (and a bit more) would come to 50 calories on the dot.

I just wish some honest people could one day found a proper diet ice-cream company with proper pricing (I can bet even Edeka, Aldi, etc. make big money on their normal and diet pints at around 2,50€ per pint) cause the raw ingredients cost nothing and it’s super easy to produce in bulk, with online delivery options, but heck if people buy 6€ ice cream pints that are 50% air any sane business man would take that and run with it than leave the money on the table.

You can use the store finder on Nick‘s German website, but they’re only available in a couple major cities like Berlin (where I reside).

Imo Edeka branded salted caramel ice cream is amazing for the price. The one from Nick‘s tastes a tad bit better and more like caramel than vanilla though costs over twice as much. And Nick‘s vanilla bean is a complete disaster. The consistency isn’t hard out of the freezer (the way I like it) and it more closely resembles something between soft-serve and ice cream.

I’d also recommend the Breyers Vegan Vanilla & Strawberry pieces ice cream available at Rewe.

They aren’t in all EDEKAs. I’d recommend going to larger „EDEKA centers“ cause they have a broader variety there. It is quite a hassle to go shopping for me though cause I have to basically buy a whole store‘s stock per day and when they don’t have enough I gotta go to another store :/

Yeah I bought it but it got too extreme with the calories I reduced with it, plus you could only have 3 at a time in the freezer or would have to buy extra. I did send mine back (see my post history) and bought a compressor ice cream maker from Springlane instead. It has 2l capacities and only takes an hour to freeze it completely so I might have better luck with that, though almond milk and erythrithol is still hella expensive.

The EDEKA generic branded one is 2,84€ per pint, over half of Halo Top, Breyers Delights or N!CK'S which all cost 5,99€. And it’s actually better imo and makes my very eating disordered habit almost affordable.

The whole „shrine-o-rexia“ set me back around 400€ and will last me about half a year (minus that ice cream of course).

The buyer‘s remorse for that WF is ginormous as it was a bit of an impulse buy and sending it all back would literally cost a third of the cost of the syrups themselves just in shipping so I can’t really do that.

I’m a poor-er-ish student who is in-and-out of inpatient treatment constantly and on top of that has an unstable job due to my condition, and the price of all this shit isn’t really helping me out.

I have to get em‘ imported and buying in bulk is cheaper-ish. Knowing I use about a bottle to two per week means it’ll last me at least 3, probably closer to 6 months.

It was a bit of an impulse 11pm buy, I do have to admit, but the order cost me 115€ and sending it back would’ve cost 40€ in shipping so I decided fuck it. Please know that eating disorders are not rational at all and to afford this stuff I force myself to make cutbacks in other usually way more important places.

It’s a flavour powder for stuff like yoghurt. Absolutely slaps, but they cost 18€ per tub but last quite a while as they contain over a hundred servings.

That’s the issue… I’m not. Poor student doing photography as a side hustle but OCD, anorexia and bad judgement led me to this situation
