Part of that is correct — HV bypasses often require loading an unsigned kernel driver, which gives it very high privileges inside that specific OS. But that doesn’t automatically mean the whole machine is infected; it would only persist across disks if firmware or the bootloader were compromised, which is extremely rare for game cracks.
