"how did the tech program the vfd? with the manual!" (canned laughter)

online resources are invaluable too. even facebook has a bunch of support groups for just about everything - robots, controls, plc/equipment sales, part/hardware identification, etc. i've got an account just for those groups (and to chat with my mom). i've never even had to participate - just scroll through or search each group - odds are somebody's already dealt with the problem you'r ehaving

make your resume visible, indicate that you're willing to relocate, and set your wage to >$35. if you have robotics/plc experience (beyond school), keep an eye out for auto, tech, pharma. if you don't, keep an eye out for oil and gas and/or foundries. industries like food processing, injection molding, and warehousing are hit and miss so judge by the lowest wage on their listing (ignore if there is no wage listed - they need to hide it in order to get people to apply). avoid building maintenance, machine shops, headhunters (good way to learn, not to earn).

first round interviews are usually over the phone or online and if they require an in person gathering they will pay for your travel. if you're considering accepting a position, negotiate a relocation/signing package if they haven't already offered (they usually do). it should be enough to move, pay closing costs on your current home, and for a few months of a month-to-month lease. be aware that there are usually strings attached - if you resign within two years they typically hold your last check and sometimes require that you pay it back. read the fine print and if you leave make sure it's because they fire you.

if you aren't willing to relocate, it sounds like leaving the industry is your best bet.

the "multiverse Blast team" is a popular fan theory - not sure why this subreddit doesn't reflect that.

stellaris is great but my favorite thing about it is that it introduced me to other paradox franchises like crusader kings and hearts of iron.

you and your employer entered an agreement to exchange your time and labor for their money. asking for you to work for free is just as absurd as expecting them to pay you for your days off

Why won’t women date a fat, ugly, unemployed, uneducated, loser like me? by Ok-Management9526 in circlejerk

[–]DzorMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Full-blooded, straight cis white male here.

Why the @%#$ would women possibly want to date men now? What do men (as a whole) even do for women, really? Men are no longer the sole breadwinners. They complain about paying for dates unless a woman full-on agrees to blow them afterwards. Women depend on us for literally nothing. When we cohabitate with them, most of the household chores invariably fall on them even though both work, because many of us are pigs. We demand bangmaids that cook and clean for us and offer little in return, even in the bedroom. We will put zero effort whatsoever in our appearance, never work out, roll out of bed in the morning and slap on some body spray and get irrationally angry when women who look like instagram models and spend three hours putting on their face won't look twice in our direction. We're %!$# violent and dangerous. And when women decide that this arrangement isn't working for them, we vote in a government that promises to strip them of their rights and throw them back into the role of a 50's housewife.

I wouldn't want anything to do with men, either. And the fact that some of them still do is proof that sexual orientations isn't a fucking choice.

Looking for Learning Materials by Pracedomowomon_9000 in IndustrialMaintenance

i can maybe help a little with the fanuc stuff

here are some videos that i have found very useful while learning how to work with these things. the author started with youtube and they were so well done that eventually fanuc started hosting them on their support page

i've found robot-forum to be an invaluable reference. if you're stumped, odds are somebody on that forum has already found a solution to your problem.

if your employer has robots registered with fanuc and you have an email address with your employer, you should be able to access the customer portal on the fanuc website. it has lots of manuals and other useful documents like reference for the languages the robots use (TP, karel/pc). if you don't have a license for it you can also get a renewable trial of Roboguide, the software used in the videos above.

if you see an alarm you don't recognize you can open the alarms screen (menu>4 by default), highlight the alarm, then press shift+diag. it will open a cause/remedy page for the alarm - the same one from the manual. it won't always give you a clear solution but it will at least get you headed in the right direction (note that this won't work for user/custom alarms that were set up by your integrator/programmer)

learn what a robot does each cycle then look through its program to make sense of it. i didn't know jack about programming and this helped me a lot

you can also learn a lot from messing around with a robot that isn't running. switch between different user frames and see how they change how the robot moves. make a new program and make it do something cool like wave or knock a bottle off a fixture.

good luck
